ie - even tho you see potentially problematic posts in buy/sell, you rather stand one side and let others step into a trap cos you don't see the need to report bad posts as you don't actively buy/sell? pray tell the logic?
the Admins and the mods' position on such cases in buy/sell has been clear since Day One (http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/faqs...y-sell-threads-posts-updated-please-read.html) - buyers beware. we do not have the resources and time to police every single thread. while we appreciate the help of members (and there are many very responsible members) to highlight problematic threads using the bad post function, the bottom line is always the same - it is a private deal between 2 members. so common sense is expected.
the decision to remove the permission setting to allow people to post directly on the buy/sell threads by our Admins is cos of people in the past who create multiple accounts and using them to keep upping their posts. it degenerated into a clone-accounts arms race between Csers. if you want to complain about this, then your anger should have been targeted at those who spoil the market for everyone else... but then again, you don't buy/sell often, right?
regarding ur suggestion to nominate champions... what is there to stop these champions for 'failing' to the job that you feel we, the mods are not doing now? are these champions going to be paid so that they can check every single deal? also, who is going to check these champions so that they do not use their authority to become price police... which was a super big problem in the past where we got "price-Batmans" crashing every other thread in the name of justice? in fact, i remember some CSers in the past only exist on CS for this purpose. ask yourself, is CS for buy/sell or photography?

What's your logic? If a person is not selling or buying, how will he know of any bandit since he does not have personal experience with the bandit? Your radar system is better than NASA?

My suggestion of champions is just an idea. We can improve on it. I didn't claim it's the best idea in the world.

i am answering your comment in relation to your barbs to catchlights. it's always easy to insinuate we are not doing our jobs, and members know how to do it better. (The mods need to prioritize what is impt for clubsnap. Is keeping clean threads (just to make clubsnap look nice and neat and proper) more impt than getting rid of bandits? Yeah, the mods can explain the importance of keeping thread nice and neat, but do they know what are the interests of members and how to protect these interests?) one of the funniest things that we the mods ever experience when we are appointed as mods by the Admins is that problems that we (when as members) think it is damn easy to solve, suddenly become a whole new ballgame once we (now as mods) recognise the crap that goes on behind the scenes - crap that members (or bandits, as you call them) create, whether intentionally or otherwise.
your 'logic' of policing is flawed. pure and simple. we do not have the resources to do what you are suggesting... unless you want to create a paying membership model for CS, which someone once proposed some years ago in relation to this exact problem that you are stating now. i am not saying our radar is better than NASA and i definitely don't want to claim it is better than yours. the thing that i am saying that you are missing out is that, at the end of the day, it is buyers beware. it is the onus of the buyer/seller to be careful. of course, sh1t happens. the only reasonable recourse for any aggrieved party, if you want to recover your $, is to make a police report or pursue a civil suit. it is not CS' purpose or intention to police on your behalf. we don't have the resources, time and legal powers to do so. the best we can offer is to give you all the space to post (like this warning thread), and would love to have more responsible members to use the bad post function (as catchlights suggested) to report blatantly obvious scam posts or problematic sellers/buyers. if there are sufficient evidence to suggest that the CSer is up to no good, we will ban them. otherwise, we can't ban someone just becos the person is an a55. god knows we would love to be able to ban a55es... but, nope, the Admins' house rules are clear on this. their house, their rules.
so, rather than taking potshots at the entire admin/mod team, why don't everyone suggest more reasonable ideas? or better still... stop being the problem. if you really hate it, or better still, think we are not doing the job up to your standards (which, as catchlights mentioned in case you missed it - we are volunteering our services), leave.
this is my last word on this cos we are hijacking the thread on something that is irrelevant to the original posting. if anyone wants to post anything that is not pertinent to the original thread, do it offline.

i can't believe this has been brought up again after so long. this CHEAPLAH, though a member of CS, has proven himself to be a nuisance to other fellow members.
perhaps the mods can take into consideration of the amount of time, money and effort wasted by members who rushed to get the "best deal", and do something about this joker?
for the older members, and perhaps even a majority of senior and old timers here, we probably understand the implications and know better than to jump at a "good" offer.
but for the younger and more gullible members, prevention is better than cure. and while this thread can serve as a way to educate the greener members, removal of such members who sadistically prey on naive members can serve to help make the world a better place, one bad egg at a time. while not all scammers and those who prey on the simple can be weeded out, this guy takes the cake and something has to be done against him to prevent him from playing the same cruel prank on unsuspecting kiddo.

BTW, I'm a mod in another forum that could be bigger with more members and of coz there are problems that we face too. I'm writing in with suggestions. If can do, do it. If cannot do, then think of improving my suggestions.

I see MODs in the BnS has not taken down the sale thread in Sony BnS I am disappointed. Mods we know you guys must do other things but he is proven to be conned man... I have clicked the Report button I hope someone will look into this, this seller has not only con one person but many of the CSers he is using the same style he used before.
I would want to ask the mod if you want you could try to contact and equire about his sale and see how he will asekd you to come down to so called his block and then he will have tons of excuse for him being late.

i fully agree! but if the seller will cheat once and disappear that's another story this person seems to be very thick skin he is using the same NICK and using the same style as last time so I guess he's up to his old ways of foooling fellow CSer is that not to be considered for e.g. post removal or even account suspension? I've seen MODS suspend some account before coz the members are fighting in the forum and OTing so why not now the MODs would look into this cheater seller and maybe do the same?
We are not asking the MODs to police we are helping you guys by reporting this seller but look at him he still back he did this last Jan 2012 fooled a lot of CSer I think there are others whomed not posted here yur guys are seeing only few brave CSer that osted and say I got conned... Once aain I hope the MODs would look into this seller and do something rather than MODs and members agruing to the point this post is leading out of the topic.
