looks like an even better deal than the one near my place.

but if buying a set of 4, might wanna see who else wants.

coz 1 or 2 is more than enough for a light shooter (difficult to become heavy shooter with film, coz each roll costs $$).
the batt will probably expire even before it drains out of battery.

its just a normal value/hardware shop in yishun. (blk 411)
and its $3. not $2. iirc, ebay sells at $6 each and claim its a low price.

cool. thanks for the lobang!

check this out...

takes 2 weeks to deliver.
but never fails!

GP 476A 6V 4LR44 150mAh Alkaline Batteries (4PCS) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

about $9.16sgd. around $2.2 per piece?

nice... but i thought customs don't allow batteries to be shipped in  hopefully i'm wrong

Button batteries no problem leh..

Batteries is not a problem. I'll go for the OM-10 simply because its lighter and smaller haha! Don't get me wrong, the Canon AE-1 is my first camera and I still have it. But I'll prefer the view finder of the AV-1

If you can, skip all 3 and get the real thing. Canon F1-N.

Out of the 3 mentioned, the Canon AE1-Program is the best.

I owned OM-30 & Canon AE1-Program and did not bother to own the 3rd Canon AV-1.

OM-10 has a killer negative. It has no way to control manual speeds. You need an additional manual speed adapter to do that.
OM-10 is very far below the standard of the OM-1N MD.

Canon AV-1 has a few killer negatives. Its meter cell is CDS, not the much more accurate silicon blue cell. It has no shutter speed dial control. You have to adjust the aperture on the lens and see the corresponding shutter speed indicated by a needle in the viewfinder.

If you posted this thread earlier, I may have given both the OM-30 and Canon AE1-Program to you FOC. Threw both away when spring cleaning for new year a few years ago to make space in my dry cabinet.

You did not give details of what FD mount and OM mount lenses you own.
If any of these are ultimate lenses (e.g. 250mm F2 Zuiko; or FD mount 85mm F1.2L), then they can affect your decision.

It's feel awesome when holding the F3, I have the F3 hp with several prime lenses

do u use the 35mm? which do u recommend?

Wat abt canon 1v and nikon f6?

4LR44 = 4x LR44 in 1 package; its harder to find.. but ruby got sell.. sometimes its hard to stack 4pcs of LR44 into the chamber with the correct sides up...

Go with the camera u like to look at and feel the nicest. 1 or 2 lenses doesn't matter (assuming your lenses all in good condition), imho..

can buy LR44 in NTUC and 7 eleven, haha! So easy to find lah!

Does your OM10 have the adapter? I think it's needed to use full manual. Canon AE has full manual aperture priority. I think both need battery to function.

u do know its not the button battery...rite?

4 pieces of LR44 stacked is a bit shorter than the 4LR44 battery.

4LR44 is easily available.

Energizer A544 is also 4LR44 just bought at homefix for S$3.95.

I used 4 LR44 batteries and black taped them at the sides together. Worked fine in my camera, but if I could find the proper battery easily then I would have used that instead because I think it's cheaper than buying 4 LR44 button batts.

could you rephrase/explain on this?
iirc. AE = shutter priority. AV = aperture priority.

same experience, stacked 4 x LR 44 and couldn't hit the top of connector in the AE-1P batt compartment.
now i have like 8-12 x LR44s sitting in my dry cab. only thing that uses the LR 44 is my calculator.

is there anything else that has to be done? like what ricoh and i experienced, it just does not seem to be long enough to touch both top and bottom connectors. and, actually, if you go to a thrift store, 4 x LR44 is actually cheaper than a 4LR44.

Hmm...$100 for a 9/10 condition Canon AE1...worth it?

Singaporeans worry less before ordering curry fish head lunch at Muthu's cost > $100. Meal only lasts 20 minutes. Canon AE1 lasts years.
