Sounds very digital criteria

Just choose the most chio one and nicest to touch, it's personal preference after all

Thanks for replying!

but i mean in terms of ease of use..any idea which one is of better choice?

heh so happens i have 1 x OM lens and 2 x canon FD lens.

and i try not to bother my friend to test test etc dun intend to waste much of his time etc..

wat i know of os all 3 is of at least 10/10 conditions.

eh so basically all 3 almost the same only in terms of more chio one?

eh pic taken by the camera or the camera she is holding is the AE-1?

camera lah :bsmilie:

you got a tough choice there. since you got two fd lenses, it might be good to stick to the canons. a downside of the canons is that they use the harder to find 4LR44/px28 battery. had a hard time finding them for my ae-1 program. good thing is that the ae-1 program is a very capable and light camera

LR44 hard to find meh.....i got it think at focalprice or DX 10 pieces for like usd$2? was using it for my laser pointers..

hmm all 3 cameras that my friend have is sliver/black versions de.

4LR44 = 4x LR44 in 1 package; its harder to find.. but ruby got sell.. sometimes its hard to stack 4pcs of LR44 into the chamber with the correct sides up...

Go with the camera u like to look at and feel the nicest. 1 or 2 lenses doesn't matter (assuming your lenses all in good condition), imho..

I vote for the Canon AE-1,purely for selfish reasons. That's the first SLR I owned.

Bought it new in high school to replace a really old Argus C3 camera.

Wish I still had them both!

Ohhh...talking about batteries!! Hopefully non of those I mentioned uses some rare mercury type batteries...saw in the rangefinder thread I think..

Arh!!! So the lr44 is the battery itself....thought its those small button batteries...think I just made a fool of myself....

Hahahas! Not a fool. Its a learnin journey.
So.... Have you decided?
Ive never tried the Canon AE/AV tho, but used to have the OM10 and boy its fun thing to play till i got infected by BBB virus and sold it away.

:(

Seems the om10 batteries uses LR44 buttons..but if get this only have one lens to play with...av1 and ae1program uses the hard to find batteries..but seems so much easier to use..after reading up all 3 pdf manuals.also I have 2x fd lenses..hmmm

if u ask me.
i'll recommend the ae-1p.
i have it.
and i'll never let go of it. (its like owning a piece of history)
why? its one of the first cameras with the program mode. (it sets the shutter spd & aperture for you)
this allows the user to concentrate more on composition/getting used to manual focusing and other aspects of film photography. (user friendly~)

fumbling and missing shots due to incorrect exposure can be quite discouraging. (esp when we only have 36 frames per roll)
the ae-1p is the perfect tool to prevent that from happening. its effectively a point and shoot slr.

idk why ppl online (esp in ebay) say 4lr44 is hard/expensive to get. my neighborhood market sells them, about $2 per batt. which can last quite some time. (1 yr plus of light shooting.. and counting)

if you dislike the idea of point and shoot:
- then the ae-1p can be set to shutter priority (no aperture priority).
- av-1 is aperture priority only.

maybe the above will help u decide which suits you/your style.
i never use the oly before, so no comments on that.

Wow. That's a very good price! Can share where about is this shop? Want to get some. TIA

Yep, the canon is better choice. With the OM-10, it is only auto exposure unless your friend has the manual adaptor.

its just a normal value/hardware shop in yishun. (blk 411)
and its $3. not $2. iirc, ebay sells at $6 each and claim its a low price.
