U changed your avatar! I like the previous one, what a babe. Was that a photo of a model or actress?
neither...

Hi ppl
I have tried using other brands but nothing like the original. Pay the best and you get the best result. Currently I'm using alot on 28-70mmF2.8L with 300D body, beautiful portrait photos. Spend more money on lenses than a good body.

if you want something that's light and fast focussing, try for the EF 24-85 f3.5-4.5. I find it a very handy lens to have. If you could find a sharp copy, it could be sharp even wide open. Missed mine after I sold it away :(

If you're not into L lenses, perhaps EFS17-85 IS with the EF 70-300 DO IS. 28mm on a 1.6x crop body may not be sufficiently wide for walk-around. The 17-85 shd give a good range needed most of the time while the 70-300 DO IS gives you the reach without too much burden on your shoulders. Also, they both have Canon's superior IS which will be useful, esp if you do not like bringing tripods around. They, together with 350D, should be good travelling partners, balancing quality and weight while not compromising the focal length coverage.

Does anyone know the current price at CP for the Tamron SP AF28-75MM F/2.8? I have a friend in Sing this wkd who can pick one up for me.

Also, not interested in 2nd hand copies...I've had bad experiences in the past and generally buy everything new now.

thanks guy ;)

I know the current price of Sigma 18-125, Sigma 18-200 & Tamron 18-200 as i enquired abt it lately.

Sigma 18-125mm - abt $450
Sigma 18-200mm - abt $565
Tamron 18-200mm - abt $630

Thanks! CP was actually sold out of it but my friend was able to get me the lens from another store. I paid $630 as well.

Thanks to all who replied! :)

yes...I was just looking at that as well. I'm just worried about the range though...

It may not be wide enough for a walkaround lens but it really depends on your needs... I have one and it's performance is great. I am keeping it even though I use the 17-40 most of the time now.

any suggestions on primes? i was more thinking about a 20/2.8 ...... couldnt find any wider below $1000

These would be a pretty expensive combination! But it does give you the range and IS in a compact package.

IMO 17-85mm will be the best W.A.L if you using a 1.6 FOVCF. The range and wide angle is there.

does the tamron comes with IS??
or even the sigma? I thought I hear from someone one of it does.

Tamron has no IS built in on their lenses.

Sigma has one APO 80-400mm F4.5-5.6 EX with Optical Stabilizer.

Basically, Canon (IS), Nikon (VR) and Sigma (OS).
