U2 - Beautiful Day

Last image to end the sunset series of Lower Pierce Reservoir.

A x3 image stitch together to form this HDR Panorama of Lower Pierce Reservoir.

x9 exposures = 3 sets of AEB of +/-1 were takenper set. Then, x3 time tonemapping done on every AEB+/-1 set with later, Photomerge to form this HDR Panorama.

Both tonemapping and photomerged were done in CS4.

Later, fine tweak Curve, Level, Color Balance, Vibrance, Saturation, USM and Noise reduction were carried out.

Added a black border and save final image as 8-bits Jpeg.

Thank you for viewing and your comment is much appreciated. Good day!

Thanks!!!

Oh, pardon me on my bad English...

The panoramic image 'beautiful day' contains 3 sets of EV +/-1 (-1/0/+1); Meaning, total x9 shot were fired.

Each set contains 3 images as EV+/-1 = Total x3 set

Tonemmapping carried out with individual set and proceed with Photomerged after tonemapping were done on all x3 sets.

Hope I had explained well this time... :embrass:

Tonemapping done on every set

Blink 182 - Alien Exist

How this image is composed:

Vertical panning, containing x8 images with EV +/-2 each shot (total 24 images...insane!!) to form this Panoramic image of this interesting fountain found right outside Marina Square, Singapore.

Images were tonemapped first and then stitching done later with Photomerged in CS4.

Further fine tweak of Curve, Levels, Color Balance, Saturation, USM and Noise Reduction.

Border were added and save image under 8-bits Jpeg.

Thank you for viewing and your comment is much appreciated.

(really one hell of processing to finish/complete this image....)

Have a hands on HDR Manual Blending with using layer and mask in CS4 with EV +/-2.

The outcome is much closer than what eyes seeing it and I reckon with using Photomatix in CS4, noise were generated and it happens during tone mapping....

Here we go, a HDR image with manual blending.

Thank you for viewing and appreciate your comment!

Yes Billy, it is done without Photomatix!

I have read some books on this manual blending to from this HDR. So might as well, give it a try and the outcome is so natural and pretty much satisfied with it. :)

I am compiling the small steps that I had process for this image and will share it with you and fellow CS'ers.

Cheers Billy!

Thank you very much my friend!

Thank you Lokomotiv for visiting and comment. Really appreciate that! :)

SoulFLY, this is lovely! Mind to share the setting u used in Photomatix? :)

Hello jtsky,

For sure I am willing to share the processing steps and here below is what I normally do and step by step treatment with using CS4 + Photomatix Tonemapping V1.2 Plugins:

1. Compose and perform Bracketing shot EV +/-1 or 2 in RAW; with tripod and shutter release (the usual...:D)

2. Back home: Merging the 3 bracketed shot in CS4:
File - Automate - Merged to HDR (select the 3 files) - OK (with Bit-Depth: 32bit/Channel)

3. Converting Merged Image to 16bit/channel:
Image - Mode - 16bit/Channel (need to convert from 32 to 16bit) - Exposure: 0 / Gamma: 1

4. Tonemapping Treatment:
Filter - Photomatix - Tone Mapping

4.1 Strength : 40~50 (dont afraid to go lower)
4.2 Saturation: 40~50 (to reduce haloing and noise and can touch up on Saturation in PS later)
4.3 Light Smooting: Very High (highly recommended to make image looks natural)
4.4 Luminosity: 0~2 (depends on the histogram)
4.5 Tone
4.5.1 White Point: 0.4 ~ 0.6 (check histrogram)
4.5.2 Black Point: 0 ~ 0.05 (too much result to underexpose)
4.5.3 Gamma: 1
4.6 Color
4.6.1: Temperature: +ve for Warm and -ve for Cool
4.6.2 Saturation Highlight: 0~2
4.6.3 Saturation Shadow: 0
4.7 Micro
4.7.1: Micro Contrast: +9 (more contrast between shadow and lighted area)
4.7.2: Micro Smooting: 2~5 (more sharp..function like USM)
4.8 S/H
4.8.1: HLight Smoothing: 20~30 (more than 30, blown sky)
4.8.2: Shadow Smoothing: 10~20 (too much resulting shadow area looks unsharp and flat)
4.8.3: Shadow Clipping: 0~10 (too much resulting area with shadows look flat and undistinctive)

So, when after you are happy with the settings, press OK...

5. CS4 Photoshop Treatment that I normally use:
5.1 Duplicate Layer
5.2 Curve
5.3 Levels
5.4 Color Balance
5.5 Saturation (individual color setting)
5.6 Vibrance
5.7 USM
5.8 Noise Reduction

6. Final step is to save Image in 8bit/channel JPeg.

I hope above steps helps. Happy trying my friend and result may differ to different person..;)
