When people trying to send urgent message by sms, emails, posts in forum.. you know, soon i believe hoax will follow, and people won't take it seriously.

you could have HIV, dengue fever, birdflu..whatever in your blood. Imagine a blood from a person with casual sex..
By the way, i wonder did the doctor inform fleek and the husband getting people to donate as much as possible for HER? it looks like she would be accepted those blood donation immediately, so spreading this urgent message isn't helping at all.
I am not saying Fleek has done a wrong thing, he got panic and just tried what he can do. But he may have not done it in the right way? we may need to get it right afterthat.
Anyone working in hospital? maybe he or she will tell us what is the right way to get help.
Afterall, posting an urgent notes, and ppl rushing to hospital and panic and it end up the blood can't be donated in that way.

The reason being, 5 idiots who practice casual sex behaviour, did not declare, donated blood and put all medical workers at risk and caused 2 ppl to have HIV.Del_CtrlnoAlt said:

Some update to the situation.
1) Baby is due for delivery
2) She contracted Dengue fever and Platelet count is low ~ 15
3) She cannot deliver at such low Platelet count else she will ....
4) Baby cannot wait for her platelet to rise to norm level as it will take a week.
5) They had no way to prevent baby for coming out except minimise her movement ( cannot move / talk )
6) They are buying time, once platelet level reach 50, everything will swing into full action.
Both time and platelet are very crucial at the moment.

I also learnt the same thing today...cannot donate directly one. All the blood will go to blood bank, and the hospital will draw from there.
Donated mine just now liao at HSA. Hope mother and child are fine.

BTW popeye, IF you can't donate platelets (juz go there and TRY. No harm going there and ask), den donate blood instead! Blood is usually divided into 3 components, red blood cells, plasma and platelets. These 3 components are seperated and given to the ppl who needs them.
So ur 1 packet of blood can help 3 ppl!

There's another form of donation called Apheresis which just takes your plasma and platelets and "recycles" your RBCs back to you :bsmilie:

anyway, she said i can donate every 12 weeks for whole blood, and every 4 weeks for platelets.
