[ Vanity ] Olympus EM-5 accessories thread

Have to say "Just live without it for a while" as I reckon quite a few OMD users have given up getting a replacement after losing that eye piece for the second time.
EP-10 doesn't seem to block much light and EP-11 is too far away for bi-spec user and divers that the image always has a circular framing.

Yup, I'm one of those now living without the eyecup.
After losing the 2nd one, can't be bothered already.

I take it out the moment i buy it and keep it. Once bitten, twice shy. Only put it back when im selling the camera.

Woah , that's hardcore.

Tested the third party grip. Very nice indeed. But needed some modification so I can assess to the SD card.

(Finally can assess to battery cover without needing to remove the entire grip!)

anyone has another case on top of the grip? or is it overkill?

You bulk it up so much, you might as well go get a dslr or even a small ff camera :-)

Haha true :)
The HLD6 gives a superb grip unmatched by any other grip i tried so far but sometimes I am saddened it gives the EM5 a larger footprint.

In e end now I'm using the grip only now I'm using a large lens (eg 12-35) and when I'm using a prime (14, 17 etc) I simply use the camera with a Gariz half case. A smaller footprint was one of e main point that attracted me to MFT

it would have been perfect if HLD6 also has an access area for the battery like the Gariz...

How can you store the battery if there's an access area?

do anyone know where to buy Matin Neoprene Fast Access strap?

I'm using this, no problems so far. Best thing about this is that you can buy cables to connect it to other brands of camera.

Bought it from artworkfoto, forgot how much though.

Need some advice for timer remote and wireless release. Understand that there is no wireless shutter release officially from Olympus itself.

Basically I am interested in shooting timelapse as well as to remotely trigger my shutter for self portrait. I am not aware if there is such a product that do both at the same time. But there are products from Aputure that do both, such as the Timer Remote and the Trigmaster series of wireless and wired products. There is this Pro Coworker II that can do both but has not a model for OMD or Olympus.

For those that used the Trigmaster and Timer Remote, can you advice what are your opinion of these products?

TIA

hi, im using this: Hahnel Innovative Accessories (for olympus)

Thanks, looks interesting at SGD110, not sure if I would buy this compared to a SGD25-30 wired version

get from challenger if u have member can get 10% off

depends on your needs, if u dun need the wireless function, just go for a reliable wired version <$50
