[ Vanity ] Olympus EM-5 accessories thread

Hard can be difficult to use unless horizon is defined. You might want to try black card technique, its pretty fun too:) and lesser problems with color cast when you start stacking filters. Have fun!

Haha, that's the result why I am putting on hold getting it. Actually I used my fingers before too and it works, haha...

Hello, If you are still keen, I bought mine from teamworks Hitech Filter Kits & Bundles during X'mas got some promo for kits although can't remember how much, but it was overall cheaper than buying from TK incl shipping. One thing bad though they screw up my order haha, and I miss my 10 stop for Xmas, pretty upset about it. If you buy kit it's cheaper, afaik TK dun have kits like teamworks, only for GND / ND set of 3. TK price is actually quite reasonable just don't have the stocks all the time. Check it out if you r stlll keen.
Hope that helps.

Just curious, which kit did you buy?

Thought some of you might be interested in the 12-50mm hood.

This one's the third party hood made by JJC (model number is LH-J55B). Bought from eBay. Cost including shipping was S$11.50 or so.

Pardon me...i m new to photography.

May I know is there any difference when it comes to hood design?

I saw another one at ebay in this design
Lens Cap+Hood+UV Filter For 46mm Olympus OM-D Camera With 12mm F2.0 | eBay

any opinion on this?

got the Hahnel wireless for olympus from sgcamerastore so far so good

for wired remote them they are selling at $15

tried the website but could not find the remote at $15?

ok this one will be the exact right size...
Lens Cap+Hood+UV Filter For 52mm Olympus OM-D Camera With 9-18mm 12-50mm | eBay

any difference in the hood design as compared to the one Wzierbovsky introduced?

Wzierbovsky 12-50mm hood is the right dimension, same as the original hood which is also rectangular shape.
to get proper shielding, it is best to get a hood that is same shape type as the original.

As for the filter in your links, i suggest we should get a better filter as cheap brand filter may overall affect your picture quality(etc vignetting)

My OMD Silver

accessories:
1) Gariz silver/black soft button, just nice for my silver black body.
2) Gariz special black edition half leather case
3) Arnuvo leather strap (Dark brown).

The Gariz special edition half case feel softer on the grip, eliminates slipery hands.
I am also able to place 4 fingers on the grip instead of 3 fingers, hence better grip.
The base also provide addition protection against scratches.

How do you remove the original soft touch button?

just got my eyecup. Does make a great difference compared to the ep-10.

Did you buy it from Olympus' online store?

Sorry for not specifying, I got this from Japan. I doubt the local online store has got any stock. I paid a premium for it though, at around $28

I think it's worth the premium. The original eyecup is practically useless. I have to put the camera so close to my eye that my eyelashes and nose are leaving marks on the EVF and OLED screen respective. I have to clean the two so frequently that it becomes annoying. :nono:

exactly what I'm facing ! On top of that, it is able to block out external lighting for a sharper view. Protrudes out pretty prominently though.

They had but it's sold out again. It was in stock for a long period before the OM-D hype started. :-)
I don't call $28 a premium, local price is $30.
