[ Vanity ] Olympus EM-5 accessories thread

Thanks for all the replies, will order my black case from ebay...

Just a little comparison of my OM 4Ti with motor drive and the E-M5 with battery grip, the likeness, especially to the Motor drive 1 installation is uncanny.

1. OM 4TI with Motor drive 1 and control pack vs OM-D with Grip and battery pack

2. OM 4Ti with Motor drive 2 and control pack vs OM-D with Grip and battery pack

3. OM4 Ti with Motor drive 1 vs OM-D with Grip

Talk about retro - I love it!

Have both the 32GB and 64GB SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s cards. 32GB on the Oly, but have not tested the 64GB card (currently using on the D800E). They have never failed me.

Hey Guys, Any recommendation of brand of SDHC cards? i am using 16gb class 4 SDHC card that was provided free when bought the camera. quite slow writing so plan to buy a class10 instead. i saw many type of SDHC class 10 type. which specific type would you recommend? plan to get 2 16gb instead of 1 32gb.

Thanks for sharing!
It is indeed the same modular system!
But I MUCH prefer the OMD. The size mismatch of the grip 1 and the OM 4Ti in my opinion...not nice at all! But I guess they fixed it with the motor drive 2. And the OMD is way smaller than OM4Ti. I guess that puts to rest all those who complained about how come digitization has not made cameras smaller...

Gmarket, $135. I did not buy though cause I got the grip.

Does gmarket ship to overseas? Thinking of getting an icode strap.

Yes it does if you can find it in gmarket. it will indicate if delivery free or chargeable.

Help! :( I want to get Hitech GND 1.2 soft but TK out of stock and they don't know when stock coming in. Anywhere else I can get it?

Ignore this message, haha. Decided to stay put with 0.6 soft after some advise from my friend... :bsmilie:

Hi, does anyone know where to get the hotshot cover and the flash cover on the camera? I'm planning to keep the original. It's so tiny, I believe it might be easily lost especially in the dark.

I saw a bro mentioning about bubble level but I find it super ugly

AWF has gariz... or you can order from gmarket

[SUP][/SUP]hotshoe cover can get from Olympus store, flash cover just use a black tape to cover it.
black tape which are usually use to tape hood and camera grip on dslr to prevent scratches.

Get a roll of black tape for around $10, good black tape are non sticky even when remove. :)

Thought some of you might be interested in the 12-50mm hood.

This one's the third party hood made by JJC (model number is LH-J55B). Bought from eBay. Cost including shipping was S$11.50 or so.

Hello, If you are still keen, I bought mine from teamworks Hitech Filter Kits & Bundles during X'mas got some promo for kits although can't remember how much, but it was overall cheaper than buying from TK incl shipping. One thing bad though they screw up my order haha, and I miss my 10 stop for Xmas, pretty upset about it. If you buy kit it's cheaper, afaik TK dun have kits like teamworks, only for GND / ND set of 3. TK price is actually quite reasonable just don't have the stocks all the time. Check it out if you r stlll keen.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the information bro. After much consideration. I think what I really need is 0.9 hard instead of 1.2 soft to use with my ND110 and 0.6 soft. Actually now I am still undecided whether or not to get 0.9 hard, usually the time I will need it is when I take sunset/sunrise shot, by right 0.6 (2 stop should be enough), I shall be taking more of such shots which requires me to use GND more than I shall see if I really need 0.9 hard.

Hard can be difficult to use unless horizon is defined. You might want to try black card technique, its pretty fun too:) and lesser problems with color cast when you start stacking filters. Have fun!

Dear Bros,
Is there such GND filters that can be screwed in like normal filters for 46 and 58mm?
Or one has to resort to those filters with external holders?
Thanks.

I think b+w has it, although it also means your horizon has to be in middle all the time. very restrictive. slot type is more easy to control the horizon and filters size independent, so if change lens no need change filter. You just need change holder adapter which is cheap.
