Valerie in Bikini

model too sexy then forgot about framing ?? Do note about your background etc, horizon esp, bent/ titled horizon are a no no, it spoils the whole pic

sometime i get nervous when half naked woman look at me.:bsmilie:
you are right, 99% of my pics are not straight.
maybe i could straighten the horizon using software.;p

Just curious.
Won't the umbrella & light stand blown away, especially at the beach?

Always use a heavier and sturdy lightstand, and use bags/sandbags/weights/anchor to weigh down the lightstand firmly onto the ground. :)

i dont know exactly the answer. could be light spill, could be more. you can try and let me know the difference later. maybe you can use either depending on your mood.

curious. why 4 flashes ? one not powerful enuff ?

my flash old, so must use more just in case they go on strike.

seriously, this is a group shoot. everyone wants to shoot the model. i can't stick the umbrella right in front of her.

yes, photography is about capturing light. start controlling it.

sooner or later, my knee will wear off.

money blown away to be exact. crash and bend and send for repair and replace is for sure.

Wow, nice model for Bikini shoot. Next time the organiser should use your pics, I may have attended this if I saw them

Thanks for the compliment.

Lighting is just half of the package. The "moment" or the creativity concept are far more precious.

it is a group shoot, the art direction may not be yours. sometime when you are lucky, you go home with good photos.

tripod on uneven sand on the beach ? i will pass as I already have too much weight to carry.

by the time, i set the lightstand, move the sandbag, test and correct the light intensity, check the ambience, check the colour, set the tripod legs, check the horizon, check the model, wait for other photographers to shoot, time's up.

do you want to shoot less than perfect, or go home empty handed.

if i have the superimposed grid like d80. i will definitely use it.

too much stuff around/on her eyes (esp that reddish thing above her right eye)

I'd pay more attention to keeping her face clear of any oils or sweat to avoid the reflections that strobes will bring out

good luck

It's baffle me as to why almost all the models in CS except Ivan's models like to use coloured contact lenses. Shining pupils look best. Maybe they like to look ang mo.

Valerie did a great job on the make up, hair, attire and she can pose. I believe Valerie was trying to improve her look with the reddish thing. i believe she will do better next time. keep it up.

The shining look on her face could be from the white reflective layer of my umbrella. Using this umbrella to give a little glossy look on the body is ok for bikini shoot. I felt shoot thru to be less glossy, anyone feel the same ?:dunno:

If I remember next time, I would shoot a close up to check the face for the first shot.

Can shining face be avoided when strobe is used? Is it because of the make up or the lighting setup or sweat?

The shine on the face is called specular highlights. read up http://www.lightingmagic.com/litgnq&a.htm

makeup is used on face to reduce oily look and the above link suggest me to move my light closer to model, do you need a tissue, valerie ?
