[ Users' Review ] - Olympus E-PL1 Review Diary

It is normal, art filters that requires a lot of processing power, currently the pin hole, diorama and grainy film(though not that bad) will be slow, those simple ones such as pop art and light tone not so much so,soft focus also a little slow

Tks Spidey89, cheers!

Anyone has a portrait sample using the soft focus art filter and the 14-40mm kit lens?

Just got mine yesterday. Very good camera for the money...

Hi guys, juz a quick check if there's an update to using SHG lenses on the PL1?

Last i read marky is going to do the "stunt" :D

Anyway, did anyone here did a comparison between the plastic kit lens & the 14-54 mk1 or 2? Wud really love to see how much quality diff is the NG vs HG on the PL1

I think you can look at old threads for similar comparisons. The 14-54mm is better optically, but the Mk. II is compatible with contrast detect auto focus so it should perform better through an adapter.

It would be great to see the SHG lenses on E-PL1, although you'd have to be extra careful not to rip the lens mount out of the body. :D

he did at one of the kopi sessions...just think of it as mounting a rectangular rear lens cap on the 35-100. :bsmilie:

I've did the "stunt" but the photos cannot be seen, too shaky... 35-100mm lens too heavy to really get a good shot and i've only tried taking photos under low lightings..no chance to get day shots.

You don't know how to hold the combination by the lens? :bsmilie:

OF COURSE I KNOW! Just that the lens was on a tripod and there was another huge insect flying around:embrass::bsmilie:

You've obviously never had a bee up your nose, in your ear, or eaten an insect while riding a motorcycle. I have. :bsmilie:

I finally saw someone appear on deviantART with an E-PL1 and the photos looked quite good, even compared with those other brands, including those photos from the dSLR he had before it broke.

what are the lens gd for E-PL1? seems like all the lens are quite expensive?

hmm not too sure myself too..first time using camera with interchangeable lens..
i am using the 14-42mm kit lens..is it necessary to get the 17mm lens?

Like anything else, is it necessary to have a table to write on? Its easier but not a need, so same thing, the 17mm is not necessary, but if you want and will use it, you could
