Hi SANYOMAN,

I've got 12 batts. 4 of batch 05-03-OA and 8 of 05-03-AO.
They are always flat when I charge them altho I didnt use all of them.
Are they of faulty batch?:dunno:
Thanks.

I've 16 Sanyo 2500s, past 2 months have problem charging them up and using them, they charge very fast and very hot, and then can't charge up my flash, not even power my ixus properly. So I sent in to replace after emailing Sanyo.

As the day I sent in to replace, their tester machine went out for testing (no pun intended) so the lady replaced my 16 units on the spot without questions. Cool!

The test reports came back as normal all had the at least more than 1v (mine all around 1.28v), impedance not more than 50ohm (mine was around 27 ohm), but it's weired why they didn't hold the charge.

Anyway I haven't charge and test the new batteries yet, they are 2006 Jan batch, should be okay.

Test report as below

may be charger problem instead? Try your new batteries and see how.

yah will try tonite :)
Thanks!

At least now with this report, I know how to test my batteries for proper function.
Finally, I can use my Multi tester with results to compare.

Hi AhV,
i have 24 pieces of 2500 AA batts n only one charger, so wish to check is it necessary to charge ALL batts before going down to Heeren? To me, by the time i charge the last 4 AA batts, the first 4 AA batts will somehow lose their charge already. So how?

lol.. i took the liberty of sending in feedback form to Sanyo the moment I posted here in the last page...

i must say their reply was prompt!!
I got an email with them asking me to bring it down for test and possible replacement. Need to set appointment time though. I suggest if you think that your batteries are faulty, use the feedback system that they have at the website, give them a brief description, and they will guide you from there.

For me, they sent me a form, asked me to fill up, set an appointment time with them, and bring the batteries down.:)

hihi ...not sure if your 2100s are at the end of their cycle life as discharge issue occurs in old 2500s. Nevertheless, do let them take a look at your batteries :)

upzz for awareness ...... :)

upzzz for awareness...... hope some of you caught some good SANYO deals during the IT show last weekend. Heard that the eneloops were brought in too :)

ah, I just bought a charger and two 05 03 0A batteries with the charger, and four 06 01 0A batteries from allan. Don not know whether they can work yet. How come the seller are still selling 05 03 0A batch batteries.

Lucky you ...managed to get the latest batch from AP... unlike earlier brother, AP was still selling old ones to him

Anyway, do monitor your '05 03 OA' batteries .....if they fail, replace them either at HEEREN or with me....cheers ! :)

Hi AhV, after reading through this thread, i did a test on my Sanyo 2500 batts too. Using the battery meter in my PD70X as guide, I found that the 05 06 OA batch depleted within a week, while 06 01 OA are still going strong. Do i get them replace at Heeren or I can go through you?

Thanks in advance for your advice and great effort in coordinating this replacement excercise!

Hi
i brought down my Sanyo batts to Heeren today. Just got back actually.
The friendly lady over there helped tested my batts, declared my 2100mAh as working, but probably may need to change soon and replaced my 2500mAh.
For some who might want to test your own batt, you can try this:
Charge your battery fully.
Within 1 day, it should show 1.33V and above
2nd day, it should show 1.30V and above
3rd to 7th day, it should show 1.28V and above.
The battery should not exceed 50mOhm.
I havent tried this with multimeter yet. But I would do it once I get my hand on one :p Hopefully this helps.

Upzz for awareness ......Seriously, I need more feedback. I just heard another disturbing news.

I have just replaced some of your batteries recently. Those who were given different batches ....can you let me know asap once you have some findings ? TIA ! Remember tag your batteries ....abuse them...charge them well.. use them...monitor them ...lastly FEEDBACK

This is your unofficial SANYO cells ambassador  ...just wanna get to the root cause

Just got 8 of my batts repalced by Febiv yesterday. Quite a nice lady, very fast service, I did not have to wait long. One of my batts was ok, but I managed to get that repalced. Will test them out and post here.

My 2 pieces of Sanyo 2500mAh batteries seem to discharge completely within 7 days after full charge without use. The batch no. 04-12-OA. It is not worth the effort to take half day leave to exchange the battery ($8 only) at their office. I believe Sanyo should make it possible to exchange the battery on Saturday and Sunday as it is not convenient for many people to do it on working day.
