Is the D60 hindering or in any way limiting you? If so, upgrade. It's really that simple.

dude,
The way i see it...
If u can afford it, why not? After all, nothing wrong with getting a new toy to satisfy your urge.....
I agree...help the economy a bit....Actually this kind of decision no need to ask other lah....ask your wallet can already
Just wondering, is 18-200 that bad? Is it worse than 18-55 VR in terms of IQ?![]()
I see. I understand the point about not demanding too much, but since I can only compare it to 18-55, wondering if 18-200 is similar, better or worse...![]()
If you are in a speed race... you need a fast car...
If you are in an edurance race... you need a car with good mileage and speed...
If you are in a race to deliver most goods/passengers... you need a big car...
If you want a comfortable ride... you need a spacious and comfortable car...
If you want to impress people with your car... then get the most expensive car...
So... the car does matter depending on what you want to do with the car... but if you do not know what you want to do with the car... or just to get around... then any car will do :bsmilie:
Oh... of course... you must first know how to drive![]()
Well said.
Put it another way - if you are going to subject your camera to harsh conditions, go D300, D700, D3, D3x.
If you are gentle - D90 would be fine.
If you want 8 fps - you need D300 (plus MB-D10) upwards.
Otherwise maybe D60 is good enough?
Acually I go for D700 mainly because of large and bright viewfinder :sweatsm:
No, 18-200 is adequate in IQ, and not worse than 18-55. But you must take the previous post in context - the poster has a 50/1.4G. That sets the benchmark higher.
Moving to 18-200 for this case results only in improved convenience, no real improvement in IQ.
no need to upgrade body.all you need is a prime AIS 50mm/1.4.Great!
I was thinking to sell my D40x for D90 mainly due to the ISO. (and I've a 50mm f1.8 lens that only AF on D90 and not D40x)
I prefer to take pix of kids without needing flash - less intrusive and less flash into their eyes.
But D40x ISO1600 with std lens kit (typically at f5 setting) is very grainy and not fast enough.
After reading, I'm considering to upgrade my lens to f2.8 instead of a new body.
Nikon 17-55 f2.8 is super expensive @ $2.5k!!
Will an f2.8 lens solve my problem?
Is the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 any good?
If I normally take pix at 35-55mm range, should I get a 28-70mm f2.8 instead? I heard the 17-50 has better lenses...?
Also I read CP Marina Sq is a good place to buy Tamron lens. Newbie question: Is this Cathay Photo?
What? For 2 days and we are still talking about this?![]()
i hope you know this lens does not AF on the d60...can only MF.
maybe you need the 30mm sigma f1.4 HSM instead...good lens for taking photo of kids but if your kid is super active, even f1.2 cannot help you especially if you cannot focus fast enough...
