Urgent! Thinking of moving from 550D to mirrorless. Lots of questions!!

How much cheaper it is compare to local stores and does panasonic has intl warranty? Locally this sell now around 810-830.

Bought it for US$539. Convert to SGD should be how much now?

No intl. warranty. But if anything I will pass to my colleague for online return and exchange.

I decided to bite the bullet and got the 12mm f2 lens.

Thoughts so far, even with the touch to focus function sometimes it focuses on the wrong thing, I bet this is due to my fat fingers.

ISO 3200 at night in east coast park sucks. I don't use flash so I guess night photography is a big no no especially on things that move. But ISO 3200 on my 550D was not usable to me too. Most I went up to was 1600 on my 550D before I felt the photos were ugly.

I still am not used to not having a viewfinder, makes it harder for me to compose, I feel that my photos are not as 'nice' due to the composition.

However it's small so it is alot easier to bring it out, and I am having fun with the filters !

I face the same problem with the 20mm f1.7 and now even the 14mm f2.5, I will focus at the wrong area occasionally, but when preview on screen, it looks ok, only when I put it up on the monitor, than I realized it was focus wrongly.

As for EP3, I try to use ISO not more than 1000, but I will give myself till 1600 max if I really need to shoot something badly, anything above 1600 is beyond usable. With my D7000, I can shoot at ISO 1600, and the photo looks perfectly ok. Thats the limitation to compensate for the light weigh and portability of the camera.

Took the following photos using EP3 & 14mm f2.5. ISO was around 1000.

Noise is more noticeable when taking dark scenes due to the signal-to-noise ratio. If you take a bright daylight scene at ISO 1600 you will hardly notice any noise. This phenomenon is the same for any digital camera or recording device.

But for the same generation sensor, smaller sensors usually have more noise. EP3 uses an old sensor which is around the same generation as 500D so it should feel noisier to you.

so far there are only few mirrorless who I think (personally) handle noise very good EM5, NEX5n and NEX7 you can easily shoot 3200 and 6400 and still very usuable pix.

The noise was from the high iso, even before my color correction, it was already very noisy. After post process, even more obvious.
But I can still accept the noise level of the 2 photos. It gives a little bit of the film look.
