thanks bro, wow, $666? that's a really good price.
the reason why i need the tripod is i have shakey hands, and i use the self timer function often for group photos
feel like getting LX3 from AP sim lim, since its nearer to my area.
anyone got bad reviews bout AP?
I suggest you check out the tripod before deciding if you want to get it. Cos most of the table tripods are not that good. If u have shakey hands, u need a huge tripod or a monopod to help you. Anyway, there are many options of good tripods around.
AP is fine.. as long as you know the price you want to pay, they won't fleece you. If the price quoted is too high, just say that your friend bought it here at XXX and if want to do your business, they will price match.
thanks bro!
my friend just emailed john 3:16 $690 for 8gb memory card, tripod stand but not 3rd party batt. wonder if its worth or not man, cos funan is also within my ideal location.
Its the shop opposite John 3:16....selling at $666 with 8GB card and screen protector. Will be $664 without the SP.
called up some other day was quoted $664...Got mine from SLR Revolution, the shop opposite John 3:16 @$666 with memory card and screen protector. The 3rd party batt is only $6. They do not have stocks now. I think this is the best price so far cos the tripod is probably nothing to shout abt.
called up some other day was quoted $664...
but quite strange as the battery is $6... ? so cheap?
i plan to get an LX3 too. just a question. does all these bundles come with the leather pouch? if i am not wrong, they used to include the pouch in the bundle. anyone know the current price of the bundle with the pouch?thanks
Currently from what I know is that they don't come with leather pouch.
hi LX3 pros, need to seek help from you guys before i get my LX3
i'm a total noob :dunno:, and the cameras i've touched before are all basic beginners' camera like sony, canon, not those semipro or DSLRs'
so here are my questions :
1. the software CD which comes which the LX3, what are its minimum requirements? is it able to run on windows XP?
2. i noticed some bros and sis mentioned bout getting a hotshoe cover for the LX3, can the hotshoe cover be slot in while the camera is in use? or do i have to take the hot shoe cover out?
3. i've noticed some of the LX3 owners having problem viewing RAW files, i wanna ask what is raw files, and what must i do to be able to view them
4. i'm totally a first-timer on semipro cameras, which shop should i get my LX3 from?
5. thanks pros, bros and sis for the help![]()
does the lx3 have sweep panorama? which i think is a very cool feature on some canons.
Here are my $0.02 to ur qns, i not pro also, other lx3 pros can correct me if i am wrong
Q1. Yup should run on windows XP, no issue about it. in fact i never use the software also. :embrass:
Q2. Yup u can use/operate the camera perfect with or without the hotshoe cover. It is more for protection rather than have anything to do with the camera operation
Q3. Honestly u will not really need to use RAW file la and i think the size is pretty... at least i dont. too pro for me liao...
Q4. Well, shops to get from usual suspect are AP, MS color, 3:16 John, cathay photo.
I got mine at MS color la... So probably u just need search for the best price/package available.
Being a owner of LX3 for only a couple of months, I'll leave it to e old birds to answer your questions. All I can say is that LX3 is a good upgrade from a typical consumer point&shoot camera. The flexibility of the functions allow u to learn photography at your own pace, without being intimidated by size, price & features of a DSLR. If u spend enough time on the web, u should be able to find answers to common questions faced by newbies. Take more pics, play around with the settings & see the effects on your photos, & learn along e way. When u become better at photography, u can then consider whether to get a DSLR or LX4.
