Universal vertical grip for 5d/7d

??? It shoots only 240 shots on a digicam like the Nikon 945, how many will it do on a power hungry 7D?! Looks like mass ordering a dozen NP-400s from East Gear would be cheaper and more effective, not to mention a few more chargers along the way...

Don't know about the power consumption of the Nikon 945 digicam or KM 7D but from my experience with other digicams, they consume a lot more power than dSLRs. Did you check out how long it lasts with the other cameras (I am not familiar with those either).
Did not have sufficient time to test out how long the Quantum lasts with my 5D since the battery pack I tested with was not mine.
Lastly, I have a lot more faith in Quantum than anything East Gear imports/produce. I already have one battery KO and it's less than a year of use. My friends' Quantums have lasted something like 10 years and are still in service.

The current SONY A-100 has it's own proprietary power jack, most likely the next 7D replacement model will be the same. For those using external battery pack and thinking of using it on the A-100 or the next SONY model do be prepared that it may not be easily connected.
