Piang...so fast change?
I went to check out the Benro A500ex at first, but the built isn't good to me, so went to see the A600ex, thick and tall, but the Ball Head that comes with it doesn't seems good to me, so I gave up on Benro.
Then, went to see Manfrotto at CP, Manfrotto 190xprob with 496 RC2 Ball Head. I quite like the 190xprob cos I can do the tilting for when I need to shoot further, but price is a problem too. Furthermore, the Ball Head 496 RC2 doesn't come good too, like the Benro Stock Ball Head. I was quoted by a old woman at CP, Manfrotto 190xprob + 498 RC2 (Which is a better one) for $414.
My dad was with me, and he felt that paying $414 for a Aluminum Tripod is not worth it. Although this tripod set is made in Italy with 5 years warranty. But the Benro has only 1 year warranty and made in China.
So, I went back to Funan, for dinner and past by TK Foto. James (The young chap) quoted me $380 inclusive of the 190xprob and 498 RC2. But then again, just $30 cheaper, and my dad afraid that I won't carry it around as it's quite heavy.
So, instead, we take a look at the other tripods available, YES, Sirui that caught my eye. The carbon fibre T-2204X 4 section legs bundled with a Sirui G-20 head has a price tag of $370. And this T-2204X is not a let down too. This T-2204X can be compared with a 055 xprob in terms of the thickness of the legs, as well as the maximum height. And also, the G-20 ball head is claimed to take 20kg of load by Sirui. I personally used their G-10 Ball Head before, and I'm satisfied with the price I'd paid.
This Tripod legs, T-2204X also comes with retractable steel spikes, where I can use the tripod better on uneven surface like Grass.. etc..
Lastly, this Tripod set comes with a expensive looking Tripod Bag with additional built in 2 side pockets for my stuff like assembly tool, allen key..
Bottom Line, a Carbon Fibre Tripod, cost me $370 Tripod + Head + Bag + Short Center Column, definite a worth-to-buy, value for money tripod ever !
