GT541 is a very old model? i got this from taiwan, seems like not many people mentioned this model

Got a Gitzo GT 2531 Explorer with Manfrotto 804RC2 for my macro work, for normal outing like travel or shoot in the zoo use a Fotopro MGC-584N carbon tripod come with ballhead FPH-51G. This Fotopro is a very light weight to carry around and the locking system just like Gitzo G lock.

Benro A128
Benro KB-0A ballhead

Sirui T-2204X
Sirui G-20 ballhead

I was intending to get Manfrotto, but price is 30% more than Sirui one.
Warranty: Manfrotto 5yrs vs Sirui 6yrs
Indeed a budget carbon fiber tripod!

Have not totally brought in a test yet, brought out last night not bad.
Made in China but still acceptable finishing. but the bags given are cheapo quality, no other complains till today. :bsmilie:

Just wonder what does gitzo warrenty covers and the warrenty duration?

I have a $79 Wei Feng tripod with removable tripod ball head. Then, soon, I'd got tired and change my ball head to the ManFrotto 488 RC4 .. Good Ball Head ! But it's freaking heavy in my opinion.. haha:)

Benro Travel Angel Aluminum Tripod A-169M8
anyone using ? im thinking of getting it..
or any recommendation around the same price range ?

got myself MF 190XPROB + 496RC2 from Cathay

Just got myself a Sirui T1204 + G10 last night. :D

Was at Funan hunting for a GGS screen protector so decided to check out the new TK store. Ended up fiddling with the Sirui tripods which i have heard rave reviews about.

I must say that i am very pleasantly surprised by the specificatios + most importantly the price of it. It will definitely come in handy when i go travelling and will be a welcome relief as my current tripod + ballhead weighs almost 1/2 a kg more.:(

Cheers:)

Just sold off my Weifeng Tripod and Sirui Ball Head and upgraded it to a Sirui T-2204X Carbon Fibre Tripod with a G-20 Ball Head.

Now I am having Gitzo GT2540EX for Macro and Sirui T1205X for Travel sharing with Markins M10.

Piang...so fast change?

I went to check out the Benro A500ex at first, but the built isn't good to me, so went to see the A600ex, thick and tall, but the Ball Head that comes with it doesn't seems good to me, so I gave up on Benro.

Then, went to see Manfrotto at CP, Manfrotto 190xprob with 496 RC2 Ball Head. I quite like the 190xprob cos I can do the tilting for when I need to shoot further, but price is a problem too. Furthermore, the Ball Head 496 RC2 doesn't come good too, like the Benro Stock Ball Head. I was quoted by a old woman at CP, Manfrotto 190xprob + 498 RC2 (Which is a better one) for $414.

My dad was with me, and he felt that paying $414 for a Aluminum Tripod is not worth it. Although this tripod set is made in Italy with 5 years warranty. But the Benro has only 1 year warranty and made in China.

So, I went back to Funan, for dinner and past by TK Foto. James (The young chap) quoted me $380 inclusive of the 190xprob and 498 RC2. But then again, just $30 cheaper, and my dad afraid that I won't carry it around as it's quite heavy.

So, instead, we take a look at the other tripods available, YES, Sirui that caught my eye. The carbon fibre T-2204X 4 section legs bundled with a Sirui G-20 head has a price tag of $370. And this T-2204X is not a let down too. This T-2204X can be compared with a 055 xprob in terms of the thickness of the legs, as well as the maximum height. And also, the G-20 ball head is claimed to take 20kg of load by Sirui. I personally used their G-10 Ball Head before, and I'm satisfied with the price I'd paid.

This Tripod legs, T-2204X also comes with retractable steel spikes, where I can use the tripod better on uneven surface like Grass.. etc..

Lastly, this Tripod set comes with a expensive looking Tripod Bag with additional built in 2 side pockets for my stuff like assembly tool, allen key..

Bottom Line, a Carbon Fibre Tripod, cost me $370 Tripod + Head + Bag + Short Center Column, definite a worth-to-buy, value for money tripod ever !
