Does this make sense to you?
A few years back my lawyer friend told me that buying a 2nd hand Premium lens is like having a fixed deposit. When you need money you just cash it. Since then I have invested in several dry cabinets and putting my money into lenses. Furthermore with all these quantitative easings your money seemed safer with something solid.
But it is mostly money out not in. :dunno:

Now feel a few pieces of paper money. They are so flimsy and fragile.

To be honest if you Buy Leica's fast glass ( the 1.4 ) and kept well you not loose much at all..... sometimes if timed right during times when certain lenses are hard to find in Dealers you can make money... try that with Nikon or Canon.
I had a Leica 50mm 1.4 ASPH and lost only $100 over a year when I sold it!
