Making our sunset shot different and exclusive. An almost symmetrical heart formed by my wife's hand (left) and mine (right).

Another silhouette shot, this time a cruising speedboat...

hie tortise...

Love your pictures...

Do u mind sharing with us how u managed the sunset shots?

THey are tripod mounted?? and long exposure shots? And also the ND Filter definitely a must to bring down the f-stop? Without it we would not get such an outcome is that right?

Thx.

Hi Weisiong,

Thanks for liking my pics. I've picked up some from CS and am still experimenting and learning, lots of room for improvement still...

For the 2 shots settings were quite similar. no filter and tripod needed, but i had to experiment with metering at different spots to get a good exposure. also made some adjustments in post processing to bring out some of the underexposed portions.

"Cruise was taken with the following settings:
Handheld
No ND filter attached
Exposure: 1/1250 sec
Aperture: F20
ISO: 100
Zoom: 67mm

"Sail" was taken with the following settings:
Handheld
No ND filter attached
Exposure: 1/500 sec (longer as the sun was in the clouds somewhat)
Aperture: F20
ISO: 100
Zoom: 55mm

Hope the info is helpful!

Although i did not take part in any of the sea sports, it looks like real fun to be flying so high!

Do bring out your camera again!

you're right, applied some warming to "sail" as the original photo was too white. For "cruise", the photo colors were already very orange, in fact i reduced the vibrance a little.

Got a little bored taking the sun going down so hopped on the parapet and took some silhouette shots of myself! Actually my wife took this one after i took one of her.;p

#22 - Tiger Airways

22nd January 2010

Tiger Airways launches its IPO today. I didn't manage to get any lots allocated, but currently it's only trading at $0.01 profit per share so no loss i guess.
Here's a shot i took on my Phuket trip and with this photo i run out of reasonably acceptable shots for my trip... :sweat:gotta move on!

Getting up early has its benefits. took a walk around my estate to discover how the beautiful signs of the waking earth can be found even in normal HDB estates.

Hi Tortise.. Loving the #18, #19, #20 pics.
Were they all taken in Phuket?

Judging from #16 & #17 I guess you also join the "1 day Phi Phi Island tour by boat" :bsmilie:

Hi, yup photos from #9 to #22 were all from Phuket. and yes i did take the 1 day boat tour to the Phi Phi island, but didn't spend too much time taking photos for that day's program, but more time on enjoying the snorkelling, beaches etc. :)

There's a jogging path and canal behind where i live and this one morning i was lucky to catch the still waters in the canal (usually there's a breeze causing ripples).
