6V = 4x AA... without customised battery adapter & host, u might not be able to get it thru...

Nope it isn't normal batteries, the B65 is the Ni-Cad power kit for the P series light assemblies. You can get the rechargeable upgrade for your G2. However, I had heard of oversea hobbyist improvising a AA holder for the P60 lights, see if I can find the link for you. You need 6V to power the P60 and AA is only 1.5V per batt, FYI. So you have to put 4 pieces of AA in series to power the P60.

Just ordered a Amondotech Illuminator 35W HID and Nuwai 3W x 3 LED. Waiting for it to arrive at my sis's place and for my mum to bring it over in July. :D Can't wait!

Anybody knows where to get NiMH D size by the way? Or the AA size adaptor to D size, is it still available at Eastgear? The Nuwai 3W x3 uses that.

Eastgear should have the adaptor, ring them up to check lo..

Hey guys, I intend to get a torch. But it must be able to shine far and the beam should not be be too wide. Which one is the most recommended to buy? Of course, handy type and not a big one.

Beside, by using LED, is it battery energy saving and does it shine far? Dun wish to have a orange light. Always seen on tv drama which the police carry those kind of torches.

Anyone?:dunno:

An advance thanks! :sweatsm:

wad is ur budget? top of d dog Surefire likely burn a hole in ur pocket.

would u mind Lithium (CR123) powered lights or prefer AA or C-sized lights?
is long (eg, more 4hrs?) batt life important 2 u?
would u prefer compact or large sized de?
metal or polymer (some tough plactics) body?
wads ur intended useage (emergency, work, outdoors, etc?)?

most betta LEDs tt can shine far is at least $50-$*00+.

surefire M6 coupled with the MN21 for 500 lumens would be a good choice, if budget tight go for the M4 coupled with the MN61 for 350 lumens. alternatively if u r damn hardcore just go for the surefire BEAST capable of 2000 lumens output.

Whats the price like for MN21 and M4?

I dun use that regularly but use what a strong light source. Compact is better. Even when it drop, it wun spoilt. Many times my torch drop on floor and gone case.

Beast is only sold to American citizens living in US and is by phone order only and only 85 pieces were made. It has long been sold out. You might want to ask some hobbyists in US to see if they are willing to let go of theirs. Wait for the Beast II, a 2 stage rechargeable hybrid (LED+HID) version, but be warned that it carries a very hefty price tag :O

The M4 uses MN60 and MN61 LA, please dun buy the wrong LA for the wrong light. The MN21 is for use in M6 only. Buying from the net is much cheaper. Do source around.

However, if you don't mind, I have a few Surefires to let go. Check your PM. :)

Hi folks, am looking for a headlamp for Mt Kinabalu trek later in June.

Did my fair share of surfing and guess a xenon/led combo which is either highly water resistant or waterproof will be most suitable. Reason for xenon is that I was advised LED doesn't cuts well in foggy condition. Browsed a little at beach road and camping shops, but the prices are (nothing new) incredible man... haha

Need some advice on either to get it from overseas(in that case, any recommendation on cheaper shipping) or any particular brand/model is suitable? Am looking at Pelican and Streamlight models... the Petzl models very expensive it seems.

Worse case by then, will just get a cheapo LED version at Beach road(if can't find something suitable) and bring along a handheld torchlight.

Thanks. :)

Bought a P6 recently and simply love it! However, I notice that these torchlights don't come with some kind of cord where we could tie around it and hook over our wrist when using it. This is to prevent it from dropping onto the ground especially in the field.

the lanyard comes with certain models..

Zephirum - I managed to see L1 torch. But can't find KL3 but all I find is head conversion. In fact, which is better and why is L1 exp then KL3?

What does thrower and flooder means? Thrower as in throw far of light and flooder mean bigger diameter?

p.s. your mail box is full :p

What is a P6? Is it a Surefire 6P? Or Pelican M6? If it is a Surefire 6P you can always buy the optional lanyard for hanging around your neck. If not, you can always get a roll of paracord to tie round your torch.
