cant b lar, does it mean my cam hav 2 b bought from Canon itself? :(

Yup, I don't know about Canon but AFAIK warranty for Nikon stuff bought from overeseas or thru' parallel import won't be honored by Nikon Singapore unless they have changed the policy.

True about using the lights in rough situations... That's why I'm babying mine... :) It's too much running cost for the surefire high-end lights, unless you are spending taxpayers' money...

Anyway, there's another light to consider... Mag85... I've got one incoming... :) 40 mins runtime on 9AA, 8-900+ lumens... this one has a regular incand bulb, so should make up for the instant on/off...

Indeed HID are efficient as I did put it on my list, look at point no.2 :) However, HID are so fragile that they cannot take any shock, once drop on the ground is sure to render the light useless and malfunction. That was what happened to my HID and I have yet replace the bulb. And if you want to compare M6 to a HID (of any brand other than SF Beast) than I should say that M6 is build like a tank, it is design to be mounted on firearm to take the recoil shock, and were field tested. :) So indeed HID is not a light to be use for rough situation. The only HID that can take that kind of shock is the Surefire Beast, Beast II and Surefire Hellfire. The Hellfire (HID) is design to be mounted on GPMG!!!

What is the point of 90mins runtime, and if you dropped your HID, you'll be out of light. And yes, it last very long provided if you use it properly, as you should know that HID isn't instant on/off. Inapproriate use will also cause the HID bulb to spoilt faster.

I guess they have ways of telling.

You did not say where you bought it from originally either.

Do you have the original purchase receipt?

anyone knows a good flashlight that i may consider getting for NS? Currently have the SureFire G2. Looking at LED lights cos they're more battery efficient

Is the Night-Ops Gladius an overkill for NS?

Definitely... actually if you are an infantry guy, you need to control on the light discipline and the standard L torch is way more than enough for most people.

Unless you are part of special ops or other tactical teams, you won't need anything from Surefire.

i see....actually i'm hoping to get into Air Force

if u dun mind loosing it, i think a short range flashlight will do. wait till u r posted 2 respective unit den buy. ;p

d short range i hav in mind is Inova X5. :)

i dun like "T" series click switch- noisy.

Most of the time I guess the issued L torch is useful enough. If you wanna buy a torch then i guess you can try those small 1 LED torches which will be useful for dark places around your unit (or when you book in late at 2 am and dont want to turn on the bunk light and wake everybody up just to look for your tolitries)

But yes the genereal advice is correct. Wait till you get your unit posting first. And airforce not east to get for NSF unless you sign on. I think air force you can only be either storeman clerk, driver or RP for NSF. Possibly medic in the miedical centers too.

G2's tough built is good for rough handling, since u have G2 already maybe u can consider doing some upgrade for it, a Lux-III drop-in module replacing your original P60 lamp assembly
