Hmmm .. if it's $800+ then it's very close to the price of the Sigma. But definitely higher than the Tamron.
if it is at $8xx, and the quality is as good as sigma, i think it more worthwhile since it is 2mm wider and might save some who doesn't need very wide like 12-24 yet wider than 18mm.

After looking at the posts... No Canon mount???

:(

after computer translation it says

"It does not correspond to the model of the CANON digital =EOS 1D type (focal length 1.3 times) and 1Ds type (full size). It corresponds, to only the model where such as EOS 30D focal length of the lens becomes 1.6 time conversion, 20D, Kiss"

Just wondering, which would be ur choice? The tamron or the tokina? The tamron is much lighter and has a smaller filter dia. The tokina filter will cost more than tamron's one. However, it only has 7 blades where tokina has 9. I gues the blades would make a difference when taking light source in the bokeh, as 9 blades will not make the light source a pentagon shape. Correct me if im wrong...

:)

If I have the $$$ I would probably go for the Nikkor...

It is still early... I have yet to see any photos produced by the Tokina. However, based on specs, I would probably go for the Tokina.

The no of blades in the diaphram is just a guide, it is not the only thing that contributes to a good bokeh.

Is this tokina lens designed for APS-C size sensor (DX format)?

actualyl i believe tamron's aperture blades are all circular. which means even their 7-blade diaphragms give rounded bokeh
