Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8

Is it still generally out of stock for the Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8???
 

Is it out of stock everywhere, or just Lord's?
I've been waiting for this lens almost a month, paid already. I must stay with patience.

If you are talking the Tamron 90mm macro, the aperture can be fixed at F2.8 and it it prime which can't zoom in...

You're right it's a prime lens that cannot zoom. But f2.8 is not fixed, it changes as subject gets closer to the lens. When subject is 1:1, the aperture is no longer 2.8, I think becomes f5.6. Anyway, 5.6 is very thin DOF already at 1:1 macro. But, for far away subjects it can focus at f2.8.
 

Finally came! I just got the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 from Lords, paid $880.

Are you using this model?

I am using it and have f2.8 when 1:1 macro.

They usually keep stocks, but this lens is popular so better call them first before going there.
I think you can always pre-order if you don't mind waiting.
 

If anyone is interested, TCW has stock of this lens. Quoted $900 nett.
 

sorry to interrupt...btw, what sort of filters do you guys use for sigma 10-20mm? am choosing between hoya n b+w but b+w is expensive..is there a big difference in photo quality?

heard the filter gotto be thin otherwise will affect the photos as well..true?

Just to update your guys.
Went to MS Color last night. Tokina 11-16 F/2.8 out of stock. They are selling @ $888

Just got mine yesterday evening....... from 'Aunty' Florence at $888, with a Tokina filter.. heheheh........... Maybe you guys can drop her an email to reserve. She still have another piece of Canon mount. Good luck! Sharp! Sharp~!! :thumbsup:
