ha.. that's a good joke.. ;p
photozone.de has figures..

It wasn't meant as a joke. You quoted doodah's post, so I simply thought you arrived at your conclusions from there.

Do you guys think which one is better
Tokina 11-16 F2.8 or Tokina 12-24 F4?
the price is not much different.

There are some discussion on this I guess
but 11-16mm is more like a prime
I'm using 12-24 myself and the extra 8mm can be
useful for a bit of portrait shots not very good but acceptable
just me....:D

well, I should say that...

* the 11-16mm is sharper but having lesser range it seems.

* the 12-24mm is having more range but not as sharp as the 11-16mm ( but still consider a sharp and good lens ).

well, better or not is quite individual.....

Hey bro,

Got to try it on my 1D at last. The good news is it's super sharp, but the bad news is the vignetting really does only go away at 13-14mm, and even so there is a light remnant. IMHO, all in all it is not worth the price tag to use a lens from 14mm-16mm. :bsmilie:

This is exactly what I have predicted in my earlier postings about the vignetting. Its good that someone actually verifies it :bsmilie: thanks.

Well, if you intend to get it, then you should treat it as a prime lens to use. :)

so in DX crop the lens vignet at 11mm f/2.8 with no filters on?

what's the warranty like on this lense? some offer 3 yrs, some offer 1 yr...confusing..

The 1D is a 1.3x crop. On DX crop there should be minimal vignetting.

kang, I'm not gonna get it, not just yet anyway, as it is an impractical range on a 1D for events (which I shoot most often).

I'd love to see some shots taken with this lens during fireworks festival this august 22nd and 23rd.

If i have saved enough and get the lens i would go for the event, and would love to post to show u a few

Sorry, may I know if this len has a fixed F2.8 constant from 11-16? Cos I am afraid that when the len zoom in, the f2.8 will increase which is similar to tamron 90mm...
