Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 User Group

Considering this lens to go with my D90. But why are there quite a number of people selling off the 116 ?

Got this lens. Only find the zoom is limited. I had T17-50 more suited for walkabout. Thinking of selling my 11-16mm but on the other hand, its wide angle is superb.

Becos it's cheaper and has better reviews compare to other DX UWA. Hence there's more pieces in the market that moves from owner to owner. Why sell could be due to moving on to fullframe, not used to shooting at UWA, feels limited by the short range of focal length or simply dun like the lens.

My main "go-on-holiday" and "use almost everywhere I go" lens is a Tamron 28-300mm. Great for general shooting but I wanted something better for capturing my scenic trips to places like the Grand Canyon.

Yo Colin, you're also in CS now haha…
This Tokina is really a great lens..esp; for landscapes…
I didn't know Tammy had a 28-300…..
I would say, pair this with that on your trips and you;re pretty much covered.

You're here too? Small world. I knew this guy Bryan Guan from here too. He took lots of shots of me with my drift machine in the past.

Yup. I'm definitely getting this lens. Just a matter of when and price.

Nice! Isit me or what? Do anyone see some smoke on the 2nd image? But still a nice and clear shoot! (:

yes, small pocket of smoke at the bottom left. :)
i thought of ps, but decided against it after some thoughts.

first few shots are generally free of smoke, as u can see from this pic.
but after a few burst of fireworks had gone off the wind didn't help much as well.

Oh this is nice!~

Did you use a black card or something?

My friend lent me his Nikon 12-24 F4 DX lens to use for the weekend. Not too bad.

How does it compare with the Tokina 11-16 F2.8 ?

Dun have the nikkor to compare. The obvious diff is the max aperture and wider view angle. Both built like a tank though, unlike the cheapo 10-24mm

Hi! Just got this lens yesterday and here's a shot to share..
