I'm interested in buying the 11-16mm for my canon 550d. I rented the lens to try it out and i realized that activating the inbuilt flash with the tokina mounted is a bad idea.

Can anyone recommend what kind of flashgun I should consider getting in order to prevent the shadow from forming at the bottom of my pictures?

Any flash gun that can mount on the cam flash mount will do.

does removing lens hood help???

does removing lens hood help???

when using off camera flash, Lens hood is a no no for UWA.
bounce the flash off a wall instead.

1) Do u think artworkfoto on IT show will have a better price compare to buying at their shop?

2) Or any other shop which can fetch a better price compare to artworkfoto which they selling S$890? Some homework: Cathey @ $990, Alan @ $960, TK Photo @ $950.

3) Any advice on UV and CPL filter not to have vignetting? If both fix together.

4) Is this lens compatible with my 550D?

you can try Hoya HD Filter or B+W Xs-pro, these slim profile filter shd bot cause and vignette, if these dont works, that mean u cant use any filter.

Tested the Toki 116 on FF camera... and it works still... awesome! It is the only UWA I know of that will work on BOTH Cropped and FF camera at around the same FOV of wideness.

Tokina 11-16 on FX. shot @ 16mm.

And it still works wonders on DX... @ 11mm

Just tried... realised that I got the same focusing issue I had when I rented another UWA Nikon lens earlier -_-;; But I believe it should be sharper than the 10-24, noticable sharpness O_O

Will Tokina Service Centre service the lens if buy from artworkfoto? If no, then better buy from TK Photo.
