Cours de l'Intendance can be compared to Emerald Hill in Singapore. Upstreet apartment complexes on a wide pedestrian walkway that starts at the river and goes westwards to the boutiques zone in Bordeaux. (Cartier, LV, Nespresso, Mont Blanc, etc...) The main shopping street is Rue St Catherine.. which is actually the longest pedestrian mall in Europe. (oriented North-South).
For those people who love to walk and explore European cities .. fear not the fabled doggie poop  on the walkways because Bordeaux is virtually doggy poop free ..compared to Paris, Marseille and Poitiers. Over the past few years the city has spent a huge wad of cash to educate the city-folk and to clean up the mess left by man's best friend. This was done in an effort to win the European Cultural City Award.
French doggy pooop (hereinafter collectively referred to as 'chocolate eclaires') actually comes in all shapes, sizes and colours. One has to be very proactive in your lookout in order to avert potential 'collision' and sunsequent 'clinging' followed by reflex 'regurgitation' to be ended by uncommanded 'colourful language'..... yes, unfortunately i have been a victim of these sneaky chocolate eclaires....

.. one so happened to be hiding behind a bush and pounced on my shoe as i was walking. @$%!@#@!$@#$@
