This kind of ppl with low tolerance level, shouldn't stay in HDB, drive etc... A bit only, not happy. Shouldn't be born in the first place, created more problems for this peaceful world. ;p

Luckily me smart enough, call up police n see what they says. Now got support, tomorrow finish another few holes, continue next wkend, see what she can do to me, haha! :bsmilie:

Cool down, cool down. The woman might be having postnatal depression, plus being grumpy because of many nights of interrupted sleep having to wake up to feed baby. She might not know what she is doing or she could not control her mood swings. Just cool down and wish her the best.

I think TS should give some consideration to the lady and the lady must also give some consideration to TS. As one bro mention, ask her for a time suitable to drill lor. Babies especially newborn sleeps all the time and its very hard to get them to sleep if they woke up. And the mum esp after child birth will be more sensitive and gets irritated easily.

I had one experience with my downstair neighbour. My kids were playing in the hall and she came up to ask them to stop playing. Reason is she works night shift and needs to sleep. KNN, den it means I can't make any noise at all cos daytime she sleep, nighttime everyone sleep. Siao Zah Boh.

Some babies are sensitive to noise and her sleep may disturb by your drill sound. Just give in and drill in the morning.


Next time when you have a baby and do you like similar incident happen to you ?

This type of things are uncontrollable. Stay in HDB is in public n just because of one baby, whole blk got to give way?? What abt dog barking, children running ard etc... n yet, she don't complain.

She thought that drilling can't be done on wkend n so, she thought she got to rights to stop me. Luckily for me, I call up police n check with them before getting into a bigger problem. I stopped but I will continue tomorrow afternoon n she want to complain, let her be as I know I got the rights this time.

Drilling sound gives a nasty shock on some babies, especially both of u are 1 floor away from each other
Try to calm down n not vent your frustation on a baby lah Babies r so CUTE......... althought your neighbour is obviously on the wrong side for challenging u in the 1st place
Maybe u can go down(if u can :angelto inform her b4 u start to drill, so she can prepare all necessary precaution on her baby, like covering the baby ears or bring the baby down for a short stroll

I want to sleep during afternoon as I got night shift. Within an hour, I was waken up by noise from other. Garung Guni, children running ard, ppl drilling etc... Will they consider me sleeping and inform every house hold? After wake up, I hardly can get back to sleep, blames who?

In HDB, there are rules but some ppl misuse them. Anyway, now I know the drilling can be done during day time as long not under contract works, I will go ahead. I waiting for her to make herself embrassed infront of the police.

FYI, my family also got 2 new borns n if got air plane fly over, we should complain to mindef? :think:

Anyway, if they find that it is noise for me drilling, why not they move to a hotel and stay? Peace, air con, no noise etc... HDB flat cut off time is 10pm, if not wrong. Mine only 1915, kenna complain. That family too sensitive, should ended up with their own land n house, no one disturb them.

If it was 10 pm n I still drilling, I got nothing to say. I think I will call the police next time once the baby cry when I sleeping. They should sound proof their wall as not to disturb other during midnight since they don't want to be disturb, they should disturb other too, right? :devil:

Actullay I am a reasonable person. I got 10 holes to drill, mark out etc... Sweating like mad n I only wanted to drill up to 5 holes n stop as getting late, ppl might be watching their fav TV programs. I planned to stop before 8pm, I also need to have my dinner etc...

Up came this woman, pissed me off like that. Cause previously when I having a party, police also came n I suspect it was her who do it. I not those kind who have party, making noise those kind of ppl. Once in a blue moon n in the end, kenna complain but I never complain abt other.

Therefore, I don't feel there is a fairness if someone keep picking on me cause they having a baby. My neighbour also know that I am drilling and I am not drilling a hole to crawl into their house, they just keep quite. But if I too much, like still drilling after 10pm, it will be my fault. I just started n only 1915, that woman told me that I shouldn't be drilling on wkend. One more thing, she said that she don't care whether other drilling, obviously targetting me if I make some noise.

On top of that, she ever check with my neighbour who is staying in my house. Can tell that they want to have peace as they hoping not family with kids. So selfish, what if next time her baby grown up, run ard during late evening, will she stop them n just blush it off saying, they just are kids?

My incident just like some cyclist. If one day they walking on the pavement n other just cycle pass them n ringing their bells, they will complain. But if they do it themself, they have the rights n bochap what you doing. For me, fair n square, try not to cycle on pavement as I am on a fast moving equipment which can either cause injure to other or myself.

My fren got a even worse neighbour..sat around 11am..delivery man send lcd tv to his house..drill 4 holes to mount bracket..neighbour walk over to peep..while delivery man packing to go..police come..that couple no kids one..wtf!! is going on wif all this complains??

I will do tomorrow ard noon time n she still complain, let her be. Even Police also surprise that I could not drill n even told me that if I check with HDB, HDB also just go ahead. Seem like now I got the upper hand, no scare of her any more. :sticktong

i suspect my neighbour upstairs runs a carpentry business.

every day, he/she/them/it is drilling, knocking, and sawing something. at 8am it starts, and i wake up after only grabbing 3 hours of sleep. so i carry on editing photos etc, and try to go to sleep at 1pm again. the hammering starts at 1.15...i try to sleep again at 4pm, and the sawing starts at 4.30...

should i complain too? there's always work going on every day! and its been happening for the past 5 years i've been living here.

y not ask your neighbour to go to her in-law or somewhere else while u drill, then ask her to give u her cell fone number then after you are done then ask her to come back.

Giving in for the baby??? how many years? 1yr or 2yr?
I think that being a parent, if u think its too noisy for the baby..u should take the following measures..

1. Check source of noise
2. Check time of noise (1000 - 2200) [if other than permitted time; call Police :devil:]
3. Check with owner on duration of works
4. Bring baby downstairs for short period of works
5. Move baby to parents or in-laws place temporarily for long period of works

In what ways can u be considerate, rather than wanting others to be considerate.

I think the police don't really know the timings. When I shifted to new house previously, there is this time range that even non-contractors have to abide to. I think by 6pm or 7pm, all drilling have to stop.

As for complaining, my contractors do all drilling etc during the indicated timing. Still this (*(^%^%$#$%^ neighbour downstairs keep coming up to complain and stop all my contractors from working, juz because he work night shift and need to sleep during the day. My contractors no choice got to stop work coz he's making such a BIG issue and have to keep calling us go down and resolve the issue.
