we need to start with a high tempo to set the pace and not allow them to settle down. with not settling down, they will be pressed to go for the goal they need leaving the backdoor open for our raids. we need an away goal or two to settle the nerves and bring back to anfield.

i doubt we will play soak and counter from the start of the match. okay, maybe we won't start at 100mph but we need to control the play and make them frustrated. they know they need to win the first leg but if we can snatch the first leg, we will be in the driving seat at anfield.

i am also sure wenger wouldn't want to be like a chelski, losing twice to us in the semis though they like arsenal seem to have the upper hand against us in the league.

his mission today is to clear all the balls away. Buy more time and do occasionally aimless attack. keke

my hero dirty kite says....

WE HAVE NO FEAR

Dirk Kuyt insists Liverpool's superior European experience will see them past Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds travel to Emirates Stadium on Wednesday for the first leg of their all-English quarter-final and the Dutch striker feels their recent exploits in the competition means he and his team-mates should have no fear.

Liverpool recorded an away win on their way to knocking out Barcelona in the round of 16 last season and defeated Italian giants Internazionale at the Giuseppe Meazza at the same stage this year and Kuyt believes this stands the Reds in good stead.

"Arsenal are a good team and they play very good football, so we have to give them the respect they deserve," Kuyt told Liverpool's official website.

"But in the last couple of seasons we have beaten Barcelona at the Camp Nou and Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza, so we don't need to fear anyone.

"We have so much experience in the Champions League and we have played so many good teams, so we should be confident about our own chances.

"We have shown that if we do our job right, we can beat anyone in this competition."

Liverpool suffered comprehensive defeats to Arsenal in the FA Cup and the Carling Cup last term, but Kuyt insists these results will count for nothing come kick-off in North London.

"What happened last season is in the past," Kuyt added. "We played Arsenal earlier this season and drew 1-1, but I think we have improved since then.

"We know that we can score at the Emirates because we have scored at places like the Camp Nou and the Giuseppe Meazza and we will definitely be looking to score."
