Just wait for phoakm to buy can liao :bsmilie:

I still find the price to be too expensive, particularly that it is more expensive than the Antidote...

I think you might still want to get it as it can be compacted for travel use.

Already got the Antidote to take care of the transporting. Pouches will be stuffed inside the Antidote and put on the speed belt once at the destination. Was thinking of getting the Shape Shifter for everyday use...

went to TK today. shappeshifter is still somewhere in the wilderness.

hmmmm, anyone knows of anyone that has a UD50 for sale?;p
BS doesnt seem to work, maybe this thread will:thumbsup:

I got my Shape Shifter today, really a great bag. The size is basically the same as the Airport Acceleration when full, but when empty it squeezes down to half the size. One thing they don't say on the Think Tank website is that you can zip it tight even when some camera equipment is still in the pockets (not the big lenses or D3 of course).

I will be writing an in depth review this week, but if you wan't to see a preview article go to http://dpmac.com/blog

Will be anxiously waiting for your review. :)

BTW, the bags will be in by this week. The cost is as mentioned earlier.
Will be going down to see see once I received the call.

Street Walker will be also in. According to the source, it is like a mini trekker.

;)

The Street Walker even smaller than the Airport Antidote?

hows the protection i.e. is there good padding protection?? :)

The laptop compartment has fairly thin padding but the Artificial Intelligence bag slips into it so that gives you double protection for the laptop.

The camera compartment has thin (but seems pretty good) padding in the sleeve compartments and they are slightly separated from each other. Lenses and camera bodies fit in the compartments in pouches but not in the more rigid lens cases (at least not with the bigger lenses). It actually works better than I expected. The main compartment itself has no padding at all, if it did it would not be able to collapse.

Normally I carry all my equipment in individual semi-rigid bags which I pack tightly into the TT Airport Acceleration. I don't think I can pack as much into the Shape Shifter but I guess that is not the point of the bag. It also looks like I will have to switch to the Skins series of pouches for the Modulus System because there is no way to carry the padded pouches.

I will try later today to see how much I can stuff into the Shape Shifter bag for travel.

I always carry the TT Cable Management 50 bag with me and it fits in the bag (if there is not already too much other equipment) so I am fairly happy about that.

More later, George

hmm...if it has very thin padding im very skeptical that it will protect our equipments  thanks for the prompt reply and short review :) hope to hear more :) is the artificial intelligence bag provided?? thanks :)

thinktank is about helping photographers carry their gear effectively, efficiently and comfortably. protection is secondary.

The trend in the PJ world (in the US anyway) right now is to go back to unpadded bags because the padded bags are too bulky (especially when they are empty). There are a lot of ways to add extra protection while traveling though. I have always used a lot of T-shirts, that way I can pack my clothes and cameras in the same bag. LOL

The padding in the pouch compartments is fairly stiff though and separates the equipment so it is probably better protection than it would seem at first glance.

No the Artificial Intelligence comes with some of the bigger backpacks, I got mine with the Airport Acceleration bag and of course you can buy it separately (it is a great laptop bag all by itself. http://dpmac.com/blog/?p=363

icic thanks for the enlightenment :) well i would think carrying a backpack is safer than a sling bag cuz sling bag tends the swing around more and thus more prone to bangs :) so i guess backpacks dun really need that much of protection :) i'll probably head down to check out and see for myself :) thanks guys..
