Think Tank - Shape Shifter!

The trend in the PJ world (in the US anyway) right now is to go back to unpadded bags because the padded bags are too bulky (especially when they are empty). There are a lot of ways to add extra protection while traveling though. I have always used a lot of T-shirts, that way I can pack my clothes and cameras in the same bag. LOL

The padding in the pouch compartments is fairly stiff though and separates the equipment so it is probably better protection than it would seem at first glance.

No the Artificial Intelligence comes with some of the bigger backpacks, I got mine with the Airport Acceleration bag and of course you can buy it separately (it is a great laptop bag all by itself. http://dpmac.com/blog/?p=363

I agreed the comments made on the padded bags are too bulky. Quote an example, used to carry padded bags when I go for assignments, which I have a tendency of knocking onto people especially the GOH was walking around. Can imagine how many times, I have to apologies to the person I knocked.....maybe another suggestion to protect the equipments is by putting them in the skin modulus before putting in the bag pouch compartments.

i'm ready to go tkfoto. tell me when! :bsmilie:

Review as in same as domke? :bsmilie:

Yup, that will be great!

Only going down after 19th. Kinda interested to know how the Street Walker looks like

whats the street walker built for? remember someone mentioned it will probably look like mini trekker? so i guess it most prob for adventurers?

See you guys there on Fri!

@ georgemann, does stuff in the skin pouches still fit into the bag? I noticed you use Skin modules.

Now I am wondering if I should substitute the Antidote for the Shape Shifter... I don't have that many gears to put into the Antidote too. Still got plenty of space to fill up ;p

Can the flash pouch in the SS take the SB-900 with the diffuser cap?

I am not using the skin modules pouches yet (I will put in an order very soon though), I can confirm that Nikon soft pouches do work, but my padded pouches do not.

SB-800 with diffuser does fit, but just barely into the flash pocket (in the front top outside pocket). This is not a travel solution, only for working, there is almost no protection for the flashes in the flash pockets, for travel I suggest putting flashes in their protective pouches and packing them loose inside the bag.

The stretch pockets inside the interior compartment flap are very large and will fit your flashes for sure, but they are just netting so you have to be careful how you pack your stuff. I prefer leaving the flashes in a padded pouch and packing them loose.

The SB800 in it's pouch fits very nicely into one of the two large Shape Shifter lens pouches, so if you are carrying only one large lens, you have room for one flash in a pouch.

Using this bag will force you to take only the equipment necessary, which is not a bad thing.

Any idea how would the following fit into the SS.

D700 with grip
SB800
28-70
17-35
85

Would it be a tight fit?

By looking as your equipments, it will be loosely fit.

The 5 internal compartments in the SS, can be max with two pro bodies, one flashgun, one wide angle zoom lens with hood and 70-200mm zoom lens with hood revised.

1 bad thing about SS i realised is that you cant mount the lens on the camera and put it in the bag :)
