Think Tank Part 3: POISON CONTINUES

There is a difference between the current modulus and skin. The current modulus have paddings to protect the equipments from reasonable hit and knock during movement, whereas the Skin ones does not have paddings.

Because of the paddings, the modulus are bulky similar to the lowpero belts accessories, which sometimes will occupy space unnessary space issues in the bag you carry. I normally will just put my lens in the moudulus and keep in the camera bags, of course it will occupied more space in the camera bags.

As for Skin, because no padding. It is easier to keep in the bags. Basically, fold and keep. During events just unfold and dump my equipments in. Moreover, you can put others things in beside the lens and cameras. I intended to use skin strobe to hold my big walkie-talkie, which I am currently using lightning fast. Skin Chimp cage pop down for my batteries, blower or even portable harddisk or pocket viewer and other stuffs. This Skins reminds me a similar product from Saffrotto which looks like a SBO.

Both modulus have their pros and cons. It depends on the user's preference and how he/she would like to utilize and organise their equipments. But do remember, for belt system, you need to seek the balance around the belt, or else your waist will suffer injury. :)

hmmm.... then skin serve me better...

:)

pig skin or cow skin?

Skins are nice but then having the optional padding seems like a better choice. nowadays I take out the padding from my lightning fast and it will fit my HDD and my flash in it. The Chimp cage w/o padding can squeeze my D2H+45mm lens, extra batt and CF card case. even as a regular bag, w/o padding they are flat enough to mush around as an everyday bag.

i thinking of adding to my taxi...

;) ;)

Find it a bit disappointing that there are no changes to the designs of current models to better attach a tripod. The Bazooka seems to completely throw off the balance when attached to the side of backpacks. Strapping the tripod to the side of Glass Taxi is also not really a good option...

no bag will ever comfortably hold a tripod. unless they design it to be slotted right in the middle to distribute the weight well.

i find it easier to handcarry the tripod.

i just counter with tripod's weight with my 70-200.
as for bazooka..i only use it when i'm overseas.

Hand carry? Thanks but no thanks... Wait till I get a CF tripod then may consider. Almost tire myself out carrying the 055PROB tripod when in Cambodia...

Agreed. Very troublesome. I do have both CF and Alu, no difference in the weight. It is just how you want the tripod to be more stable.

Almost forgot, the only difference between the belly dancer & pixel racing harness, it the way how to wear it, other then that they served the same function.

Thanks phoakm, for the really detailed explanation. It's very helpful :) think I'll be getting a mixture of the 2 systems.

anyone else going to the IT show on sat evening or sunday? it'll be good to finally meet you guys.

no TTP stuff at the Canon booth, but there is a live demo of the products and the harness by the one and only TTP model. Most of the people here should know who that is :bsmilie:
