woo hoo!

congrats on getting the fabulous tokina 100mm f2.8 macro lens!

how much you paid for it?

Haha $690 for a local set. Do you know Tokina stopped production for this lens? I'm lucky to find one of the last few local sets left.

I want to buy him Sigma 17-50 OS HSM but he refuse. He want me to save for his wedding.

Haha is that the reason why you bought one for yourself using my wedding money? :bsmilie:

Haha after reading the reviews and my own testing, I feel that the Tokina is superior to the Tamron. I like the build more and they have the same minimum focusing distance, so it helps that the Tokina has an extra 10mm. Optically I tend to lean towards the Tokina too.

Tokina is well known for its build quality...I'm now leaning towards the Tokina 16-50 for a standard zoom. Was initially uninterested due to the price compared to the alternatives, and the underwhelming results from reviews. But after researching a bit more and seeing some photos on flickr, I'm convinced that they improved on the lens somehow over time, as the sharpness wide open doesn't seem to be as low as some (in fact most - not that there are many reviews on this lens) reviews suggest.

But then again, it's pointless to poison myself lol :bsmilie:

Haha totally love Tokina's build quality, really top notch:thumbsup: If you don't mine paying more for the Sigma version, I'm actually quite impressed with Samtac's copy.

and help in your nefarious kidnapping schemes? :nono:

I hardly find my plans nefarious at all. Instead, I get very discouraged from the lack of talent from this group. :( and here I was looking for a sidekick of sorts. Looks like there's no one I can really trust around here.. :( le sigh.

ah. crap. i have a Nikon F70 without any F-mount Lenses.

i just received a Canon 1000F from my uncle with a 35-80mm lens. with no battery.

-.-||

I called MS Color and Marina Cathay, they both say impossible to have stock coming in because discontinued already and haha TCW have stock now. They quote me $680 for grey, I was shocked.

Haven't tried anything in Lightroom yet though, not sure if the integrated gfx can handle it.
