Hmm from what I've heard from my female friends, the books were significantly better than the movies. So you might want to think twice about comparing to the author of the Twilight books. I also think that sometimes some photos require commentaries to make sense. Or a suitable title. Not all photos will make sense to everyone if you don't put a title or a description. So I disagree with your point that the photo should say something first and the commentary adds on. I think that the problem with that photographer is that his/her write ups do not correspond with his/her photos.
