You can't beat the convenience of pulling iphone out from your pocket ^^"

D4 is getting more and more enticing for me....

Not to mention Play games aka Modern Warfare 3 and play mp3s. ;p

Seriously, I only need the weight of the camera to be lighter and with great ISO.

:bsmilie: You forgot to mention the kitchen sink... I want mine to be able to brew a nice cuppa when waiting patiently for a nice flight shot. :p

Really, I'm sure future flagships will go towards using lighter materials when everything becomes nano-this and nano-that. Just the thought of D4 being slightly lighter than D3s is making me believe it's already heading towards that direction (not forgetting to mention that the former features a 3.2" display...) Maybe D5/D6 will be something of light-weightness unless of course they do intend to squeeze in a kitchen sink?

WT-5 is impressively small indeed! I'd imagine when D5 or 6 comes, such devices (if they were not integrated into the body then) would be in the form similar to that of nano-thumb drives / nano wireless USB adaptor that we see these days...

I really hope they will integrate some of those networking capabilities into D800 or D400.. that will be awesome!

it looks like image quality has reach a pinnacle..... now the focus seems to be improving workflow of a professional.... other than video of course....

NOPE, you see 1080p isn't anywhere close to 16mp if you were to say convert the quality of 1080p into Mp...

So, what you'll get is 1080p in all those crop modes, because within each sensor sectional crop are enough Mp to make up 1080p..

With the crop itself, you're loosing pixels, the sensor isn't organic it can't just tell all the pixels to run to the middle of the sensor and bunch up really tight.. So each time you go down in crop, the Mp goes down since you're calculating Mp when shooting pictures.

Hope this helps,
Adam

One thing that you might want to note which I forgot to mention, and from my understanding of nikons press releases... Nikon is planning on doing 1920x1080 (HD1080p) in two or more ways, one, it crops the sensor down to a size of 1920x1080 so your lenses get more reach (wides become mediums, mediums become teles) or it'll just do what it usually does, and takes a few pixels every few pixels and makes up a full frame video. You get to choose.

Artifact wise, the crop video will probably look the best, but the full frame video (for the sake of wide lenses) will probably be equal to, or better then the 5DII..

Hope this makes sense, hard for me to explain on the computer.

Best,
Adam

impressive beast, that would explain the weight

Yep! Must spread the dark force all over so that the dark side will remain strong! :bsmilie: Well, hope they do then the rest of the range will be irresistable to different users.

I was just looking at the pic from the CES review on NR... My goodness, the shinny unpainted alloy body will undoubtedly awe viewers and onlookers. Does this thing transform?

They could do an 'Optimus Prime' colour scheme :)

If left BMF (bare metal finish) polished to a mirror shine, it would be as EVIL looking as Megatron himself... now which is cooler? :) This should ring a bell - remember 1991 Audi Avus Quattro?

I wonder if Nikon would be tempted into releasing such BMF bodies (Limited releases of course).... Like the good old days of film cameras...
