wah another fierce and critical one, I'm just sharing a website from a man whom I feel may not be a professional photographer 'per se' but like others, writes about his experiences with photography and shares them online. Not everyone can understand complicated photography jargon and Rockwell is non pretentious and comprehensible. Of course go ahead and take things with a pinch of salt ( if you'd even bothered to read a small part of the introduction ) he did mention that "This website is my personal opinion. To use words of Ansel Adams on page 193 of his autobiography, this site is my "aggressive personal opinion," and not a "logical presentation of fact."

People need to lighten up.

If having take a look at his stuff, and you don't dig what you see. Move on.

That has always been a problem for 3rd party lenses when new cameras are launched not just Nikon.

so will it be likely to be fixed in the future batches? am struggling between d300s and d7000.

Bro, my apology not mean to be critical. Ya.. we need to lighten up after all Christmas is just next Saturday. :)

So, you should sell your D700 and buy the D7000
10 vote for D7000, 3 vote for D700

And you also should sell your D3S and buy the D7000
10 vote for D7000, 7 vote for D3s

According to that website, D7000 is the "Killer" camera of ALL.

Obviously, those are not apple to apple comparisons.

Yes, there might be future batches (read: firmware update).

Note that there is big limitation in firmware update as it is not a change in the hardware itself, so you can't expect a drastic change...

I think should be snagsort not snapsort, there is a serious snag in the comparison. You don't compare a Ferrari with a Nissan base on reverse sensors, reverse camera and number of passenger seats.

p.s. sorry just an example nothing again Nissan. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

I think the most important thing with a camera is that you take it out to use. I frequent the Ken Rockwell page and i fully agree with the sentiment that it doesnt matter if you have a medium format digital with 600 megapixles. If you don't take it out to use it, its not worth it. I agree that comparing specs is interesting but its not the whole story.

I like the Ferrari vs Nissan comparison. I think its completely palusible, Nissan GTR anyone?

As someone put it, the D300 is the best semi-pro cam. Cameras are used to take pictures. If they are not used, then they become very expensive decorative items.

Yes true. No matter what camera gears you buy, cheap or expensive, as long as you seldom use it, it is not worth it and you are making wrong investment in camera gears.

Yeah, the worst camera (as a creativity tool) is that camera that's always sitting in your cabinet.... be it a D300s or a D3x.

I understand that if you had D3x, it might always sit in the cabinet due to the safety issue.

But why D300s ? ;)

Another affirmation of the new EN-EL15 performance on D7000, on second round charge the capacity seems even better, after about 900 shots (NEF) with 70-200 lens AF & VR on, battery life shows 70% left :what:

Bros, Merry Christmas, may all our future Nikon dream come true :)

Our future Nikon dreams ...

- update of 180 mm f/2.8m with Nano coating and VR
- update of 135 mm f/2 DC (refer to Sony 135 F2.8 [T4.5] STF SAL)
- new AF-S 50 mm f/1.2G
- new AF-S 24 mm f/1.8G (economy version of AF-S 24 f/1.4G)

Please make my wishes come true
