So has. Anyone bot the 650D? I am curious on its performance with the STM lenses, especially in video mode with the 40mm...like is the continuos AF noisy enough to affect the video? Thanks

All of these updates have been there from the mirrorless camp well ahead. Why is canon lagging behind........

I guess you are asking why Canon is slow to release their mirrorless cameras.

The reason is simple: Canon's traditional DSLRs are selling like hot cakes and their current facilities probably have problems coping with the orders. Recall how the 5D3 was out of stock in many places when it was first released? They need to get their new facilities (I suppose those in Taiwan) running before they can cope with market demands. Otherwise, they will be announcing their mirrorless cameras one year before actual release like the 1DX situation. :D They probably anticipate massive orders for their mirrorless solution.

The latest date for a mirrorless launch is July 24, 2012 via Canon Rumours [CR2].

Went to TK Foto and hooted the 650Kit with the EF S55-250mm , a sling Vanguard bag, a couple of DMC protectors , a Sandisk 16GB Extreme SD Card , a Kingston 8GB Class 10 SD card , a infrared remote. Book , screen protector and Canon EOS bag given free. All for $1625.

Sorry, just curious about the autofocus video function. Is the AF function inbuilt into the body (that is works with all AF lens) or works only with the STM lens?

the AF function is Servo AF which is new to 650D as of now. you can check out the review from DigitalRev, it's not that good actually.

Thanks. I just saw from youtube. the AF works with non stm lens as well. It works better with stm lens and it is less noisy.

Anyone can advise whether this Sigma 610DG flash is good enough for a beginner like me to play around:

A note to all who think you can use AF for recording video, don't be too happy cause it still looks shity with the 'bounce back forth' focusing.

Its just slower and less noisy on STM lenses.

If you want to take good videos, use a proper video camera if not use fully manual focusing on dslr. No running away from it (at least for now)

just asked abt the 650D under PPP.. unavailable for PPP yet.. sad.. wanted to get this to upgrade my aging 450D..

hi does it includes 18-55 kit lens?

consider the yongnuo 565ex instead. cheaper and feels extremely well-built. lacks high speed sync but otherwise specs are comparable with the canon580ex.

The YN 565EX power output comparable to 580EXII meh? o.o

For those who bought the 650D, can help me confirm the existence (or lack of) of the x3 digital crop in movie mode that the 600D has? Did Canon really remove this feature in the 650D? (meh) :(
