well well...this is really getting nowhere...

What do u think a garden will be like without gardeners?? Very soon it'll turn into a jungle of overgrown bushes...and full of creepy crawlies.

IMHO the moderators are doing a free service and a thankless job. Do you seriously think they are god? I don't think so...they are human too...and all human are prone to mistakes.

So what do you do when they make mistake? Point it out to them, and i'm sure they will be man enough to acknowledge that and offer explanations. We should work together and make this a better place, not pointing fingers at each other when things screw up...btw i guess everyone visits CS out of their own free will right?

What do you do if you think the moderators are doing a lousy job?
Volunteer your sevices if you think you can do better than them...otherwise remain as a visitor and keep the gap shut.

Who am I? I'm a nobody? Juz giving my 2 cents worth of thoughts....don't you think some people here are so self centered that they think of nobody but themselves? I do understand that this post might be a potential magnet for flames, but i still need to say my piece.

What do i think of the moderators? I don't even know them personally, but i do see that they are trying very very hard to make CS a better place. NObody is perfect, but i do applaud their efforts.....i think they have done a great job. Roy has made some clear explanation which took him some time and effort to pen it down.

Conclusion?
Volunteer yourself to be a moderator if you think you can do a better job !

What gives you that idea?

I thought Mod is to steer the discussions so they stay relevant and of course intervene when people misbehave and remind others on the rules of engagement... before things get out of hand.

Maybe I am being too simplistic, but sometimes less moderation allows people to mature and sort things out. This is never easy, some Mod may see things differently from another Mod. It's a learning curve and hopes this benefits the Mod as much as us participants in this good forum.

hehe... let me table a new suggestion...
Perhaps it is time for CS to close down. Like all good organizations, it was started with the best of intentions, to foster and gather the photographic society in sg. In my opinion, CS has fulfilled its role. Today, when i go out and see a fellow photographer, i do so in the knowledge that he is probably like me a hobbyist, and i can freely approach him
However, more and more, like the many forums that came before it, it is starting to get abused and tarnished. Let us end this on a high note.
Ok, that was a bit morbid and just for cracks... not a bad idea at times though...

Hi.

I can assure you ... it'll take more than just this hiccup to force us to close this down!

Looking at the number of posts, the direction this thread is going (deviating) and what has to said are being said and repeated, it's time to break this cycle and move on.

I think all if not most of us got learning points from this mini saga so let's move on and get back to the basics that is photography!
