i thought you can afford a bit more exposure, don't be too obsessed about keeping all the highlights well exposed.

alternatively, do a lot more shadow recovery, you can afford to be more aggressive in ir.

You know what? You're right. I actually have the blinkies on by default because it irks me everytime I see even just a teeny-tiny bit of over-exposure in the preview. This IR thing throws me off big time.:sweat: Shadow recovery? I have yet to know what that is lol.:bsmilie:

image --> adjustments --> shadow / highlights

enter some value for shadows, that is shadow recovery... you can actually also do it using curves of course.
