I think there are many causes for human misery, including natural disasters. Singapore is not exactly corruption free, even CPIB has its in-house cases. Other cou tries have their Yakuza, Mafia, etc. it is a cursed world indeed and the happiest people are in Nigeria.

Most of the helicopters are bought 2nd hand from other countries and their air force lack money to properly maintain them. Helicopters are more expensive to maintain then fixed wing aircraft

Actually, there are many mega rich tycoons in Philippines too. They would own private helicopters. And of course the president has his own fleet of helicopters which we presume are functioning.

There is thing which is beyond us. i.e: How the rich and powerful use their helicopters, food stockpile, donation $, etc.

Let's do what's within our strength. Whether the goodwill is misused later, it's no longer our sin.

Using aircraft that is not suitable for the job will only create more problems

USA has done very well in coming to the rescue fast, having the necessary hardware and manpower, being able to plan and execute the necessary relief operations; when the Philippines government seemed lost and unable to deal with the situation. USA has demonstrated that when push comes to shove, it can take care of its ally, Philippines. This is soft power. The absence of PRC rescue personnel and initial paltry $100,000 pledge by PRC has not gone un-noticed.

USA have many years of experiences doing humanitarian assistance using the aircraft carriers.

China is also building aircraft carriers and have also bought one from Ukraine. However, Philippines government would be terrified to see the Chinese carrier because the China have claim over the Spratly Islands, which the Philippines also claim to own.
