The bigshot

haha ,,,,, you missed the major flaw, it was supposed to be a landscape shot, and he did it in a portrait :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

a big problem was that they did not have an eminent landscape photographer as their guest judge for that episode. any one of the more prominent landscape photographers in CS would have done a better job with the critique and the judging IMHO.

once again....."TEA CUPS?????!!!!!!!" :bsmilie:

But even so, wouldn't they have realised that the tea cups is out of theme? Maybe if it is very technical stuff they may not critique well, but surely they shd be able to spot something out of theme?

It is not rocket science, all the viewers could spot it immediately. Even Caleb was convinced that his shot was way off, and fully expected to be booted out.

it is a controversial decision.

I thought so, I felt perhaps they wanted to create a controversy but doesn't seem to work.

the programme is fine, the show's alrite. could do with more than 30mins of airtime.

the judges, perhaps, need a reshuffle and maybe a brief introduction of the judges before the start of the 'judging' could help to inform the audiences of their credentials.

i would think that audiences these days are a lot more... particular and very much well informed. :bsmilie:

Not easy to make such shows. If they make it too technical, people will be turned off. But I always find that to make them participate in themes of different genre, is asking more for a generalist than a specialist. After all one could be a great architectural or landscape shooter but totally clueless in portraits. Granted there are some who are genuinely talented, can shoot different genre still do well in what they don't specialise.

You are right, but a typical proficient photographer should always be able to apply all the basic "by default". Watching the last 3 episodes kinda shows them as nothing more than GWC/WWC, better off using a p&s or iPhones.

there are plenty of excellent landscape photographers in singapore.
just invite one of them to be the guest judge for the Landscape Photography Theme.

Agreed. Just look for them in the trees.
