The 18-55 IS is definately a stellar performer. $50 is definately not the price for such a lens! This lens retails for around $150-200 on the 2nd hand market...
err ... i attached to tripod and used a remote to focus and snap the shot leh
but my background/environment is not very bright, as it is shoot at night after work in my living room.
Look at the Center portion of the picture, near the D. That is the most obvious part that is in focus and sharp. Edge to edge sharpness across the frame is not possible here as the lens was held close to the subject and it was handheld.
CS has 200k file size limit.
The original file size is 4.2mb.
Here is same photo i upload to another site, although i upload the original file, think the website shrink the file size. but can save the image file and still able to read the exif info.
Dude....
This photo looks perfectly sharp to me, blown up to the max size CS allows. Either you're viewing at a much higher magnification, or it's time to visit your family optician.
Samuel
and thanks to all for those positive feedbacks on the sharpness.
by the way the earlier smaller image is shrink down 25% simply by using MS Paint without any editing or cropping at all
