I'm sorry but i find it unsharp (due to handshake?). It almost looked as if the leave on the left is focused instead.

But my main reason to post this to ask this question:

I thought this lens should produce better bokeh then my trusty Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 (which I think has the same number of blades but not circular apertures) but the sample does not appear to show that.

I have on the look out for the Sigma successor but this Tamron is yet to convince me.

Any good arguments out there?

You are right. Looks like misfocus or camera shake to me too.

What is it about the bokeh that makes you say it is inferior to your Sigma? I think it's messy solely because the background is also messy to begin with, and you are not close enough to maximise the OOF blur.

I did not say that the Tamron is inferior to the Sigma in any way.
The picture background is messy but I'd expect circular blades to give smoother gradations.

Just got this lens... quite awesome. Some snapshots I took on Sunday... my copy quite sharp around f/2.8-f/4, straight from camera no PP. The "zeet-zeet" sound is very fun as well.
