HN / CP / John are all selling the cam for $995 cash! IN fact CP sells above $1k until i quote the price offered by HN.

AP Funan sells for $990.

Seems that price is sliding...

Wanted to jump in but wondering if I should wait for the G2 with video feature.

Think better wait for the video feature. Its good to have. Sometimes a video will show more of the ongoings as compared to a static photo. Some may disagree. But to some, to capture both photos and videos of that particular moment is a must.

Anyway spring 2009, the HD version should be out (i hope). Also as per Panasonic announcement, some of the other MFT lenses will be launched as well. Also 3rd party adapters are popping out everywhere that will allow to use other 3rd party lenses on the G series. So 2009 will be a fun year for this camera.

I was wondering, would the M mount leica lenses fit on the G1 with an adapter?

On another note, it would be great if a 4/3 body can be made approximately the same size as the current powershot cameras : p

Some more photos from P.Ubin. All straight out from the camera in JPEG format with no pp.
Was testing it so no compositions or techniques of any kind to talk about here.

Will try to take some of landscape when I have time. Maybe Xmas eve and as for portrait will my cat or dog be good enough as the model? haha

Night shots. Sorry did not go out so just take it right outside my window.

I paid $999 + $13 for the screen protector!

seriously, theres no shutter flip infront of the sensor, will the dust get in the sensor easily?

The EXIF value showed it is taken with manual setting 40" F11 ISO100, did you put it on tripot or on window frame?

there is a shutter flip in front of the sensor, only when taking a photo, otherwise, the sensor is just exposed there and then, dust should get on it pretty easy as far as i can observe, seeing that everytime one removes the lens, even when the camera is turned off,the shutter isn't there and the sensor is just there

Here it is

Congrats on the purchase, ChickenRice. I bought the black one last weekend. Can't wait for the other lenses to be unveiled in 2009.
