[ Tech Support Help ] - Several Dead Pixels on Olympus E-PL1

Third trip to Olympus yesterday.

Disappointed again. White dots still present and now one more RED dot. Total two red dots. I also realised that these dots are on fixed positions and always there regardless exposure. Although it gets more obvious with negative exposure.

They claimed they have changed the sensor and LCD already. But my question is then again why more RED dots this time?

What I felt they should do is to tell me that there are more RED dots and seek my opinion before I make the trip. Why tell me it is fixed when the dots are so obvious?

I bought this camera in Sept. Brought it for a trip to Japan. Realised these pixel problems in low light and have sent on my camera since I returned to Spore. Till today, I still have no chance to really use my camera in Spore. Haiz....

Sorry to hear about your case, but this problem... well... I really have no idea whats going on if they've already changed the sensor and LCD, bad batch of sensors and LCD? No idea, probably can request for them to check the screen thoroughly before making the trip down?

Worst case... get a refund since they cannot fix the issue.

They gave me a new set. So far so good.

I am puzzled ....

You had to make 3 trips down there to find the same fault ? !
Are they saying that they don't know how to check the set first before saying it is OK for you to go down there ?

If I were you I will charged them for the transport fare and time spend going down there THREE TIMES !
I think they are just hoping you don't see the HOT pixels and accept the camera back blindly. LOL !
SIGH ...

Hope the replaced set is good to go.

Its really hard to say, for example I occasionally have "heart attacks" and I declare when I went for NS check up, they sent me for futher checkup by running threadmill but I never had any heart attack, so some things just not detectable or maybe they didn't see or didn't understand? So many problems, but at least they changed the set for TS

I also feel the technician is not doing his job well. It was the service staff who took in my camera on the 1st trip, seeing my LCD getting from bad to worst, who decided to tell the manager. And eventually I was even two new sets to choose from.

If I never meet the same service staff again, think I will still be making trips there this Saturday....
