How good is the buying price?

I am looking to sell my AFS 24-85G to finance purchase of AFS24-120 VR. I am wondering if I am not able to sell it here what price can I get from TCW?

buying price would never be good ........ they still got to earn a profit and they are competing with the price here.

Profit margin has to be at least about 100% before they can substain their operation cost, and they will most probably judge their buying price by their possible selling price.

100% means if they think they can sell it for $500 they will buy it from you at $250? gee... :bigeyes:

TCW doesn't usually buy used gear. They put stuff for sale on a consignment basis. They tag a 10% commision on top of your asking price.

TCW is really helpful and friendly. Sometime it might be a little price different from other place, but their after sale service is tip-top.

TCW is definitely a nice place to buy things from, the price are relatively reasonable. About the 100% thing, that is just an estimation .... chances are if you buy a new piece, the camera shop you are buying the equipment from earns more then 100%.

And for the consignment things, not all are on consignment, only those which are pretty difficult to get rid off are on consignment basis. Don't really want to pay up front a whole lot of equipment which cannot be sold.

I meant their used equipment. I have inquired about this before.
