I have that lens before. No worries for the backfocus on the lens, worst get service center to help you to calibrate.

This will be able to help you.

you are right. so far only heard that 10D some back focus issue. Other than that, quite OK generally.

CSC is quite good and fast in calibrating lens. If you do find that your lens has some focusing issues, you can always approach them, no big problem here.
