Redsun u sold off ur 17-40 alr? How is it?

Im considering to get it late this year, but im still wary about the sharpness issue of lens.Which is quite common in the photography world.
Then, do u advice i get 2nd hand or new...got a bad experience on 2nd hand lens so not very keen on it...but as i am going to a certain country for travel, i found that a new one retails for 850sgd there.

Which one do u advice?

hmm the build quality is good imho
as for sharpness,actually its quite sharp but not VERY sharp u know?
if u can get it cheaper then why not?
where u gOing anyway?

Try strobist way of landscape light paint but one flash go bonkers. In the end use one off flash with floodlight as main source of light. I think it is a failure Do not know what steps I missed.Please critiq.
