Nothing better to do... testing my graduated ND filter.

All shots with 10-20mm lens.

The LEFT shot is with no filter , nothing...
Middle shot is with a 2.5stop , can see that the sky is darken.
Right shot is with CPL + GND filter.

no CPL only shots here... sorry bro..

I did used CPL sometime ago. Shot was taken under bright sunlight, the CPL is very effectively cutting the sky intensity here.

The LEE filter that I am using did produce a little bit of color cast ( slight tobacoo ). I guess, all grey filter will have a little bit of color cast here and there, you must still do a little bit of color adjustment ( white balancing ) here and there one, cannot escape.

you are lucky you are not staying opp... else I will use 800mm + 2X TC to spy you. :bsmilie:

this one looks like taken at 2 o'clock.. but the CPL works better then your pictures above (taken at 3).. how come?

i like #1...tot the light can be brighter...cup also seems dirty...:)

overall, nice effort...

Mapper!! Love #1 shot! :bsmilie:
But maybe need to align the horizon a bit :sweatsm:

COOL!!!

As all have said, first one is the best among the lot. Great effort, considering its ur first try.

Dirty glass aside, the composition is too tight on the bottom with too much space on the top. If ur emphasis is on the water splashing, try zooming in to water and omit the glass. Else try including the whole glass or try a diff angle which will give a better compo. Just sharing my thoughts. ;)

Thanks for all the comments, will take note of it, hope the next time I try again, it will have improvement.

Really thank you all for the encouragement and useful comments.

polarizer works best when the light is polarised. I am not sure what actually contributes to a polarised light. I have been shooting in Europe and Australia, the sky there is easily darken using a CPL, but not here in Singapore. Not sure why.

Once the sun ray is polarised, you can then use a CPL and rotate the CPL in such a way that the angle is 90 degrees difference to the sun light, hence you can achieve maximum intensity reduction.
