I wan to hootz a DVD player...any butties can recommend me a goot model? Should I buy Blu-ray players now? I ish noob in DVD player...

Happened to see a review in a mag ytd, apparently the better blu-ray player in the market nw is from panasonic bt could be quite ex....:sweat:

hmmm, flickr got reduce the quality ?

flickr using sRgb... photo profile at Rgb... this could be the cause... not sure... need to study... BBB color management reference book :bsmilie:
btw, last time i set my camera to sRgb, photoshop color management also set to sRgb, so didnt notice this issue.

if price is not an issue then buy a blue ray player else wait cause it is a new technology...

I find Sony player very sensitive, it can only play good and original DVDs.

i suspect something related to colour management because all laptops/monitors look the same but on browser failed.
It works after i install an add-on on firefox.

sRGB and RGB color range is not gg to affect quality. The color ranges affect the colors. So if u have certain colors that fall within sRGB and converted to RGB it will take up the nearest color space in RGB. Quality more related to compression of JPEG. I am using flickr and its fine. :think:

Yes... Sony got copyright protection as well as dun play 3rd party discs one... :sweat:

Yes buttie, use color managed browser such as Safari/Firefox...IE isn't color managed...

Cause like every 1-2 yrs i find that the player will have reading problem as it gets old.

yes, DVD players will have reading problems after 1-2 yrs...so i jus hootz cheap DVD player while waiting for blu-ray technology to mature...

You should set both to Adobe RGB as the color gamut is wider than sRGB...

Yes.. not worth to buy a blue ray now. If u must have one.. get a Sony PS3.

No point getting the HD-DVD also (it just lost in format battle to BlueRay.. so it wont be popular next time..) So you have a transition choice... DVD player is out going but we are expecting it to be stady for at least next 2 years.. no improvement to it i think.. but that also indicate you to have a spoilt of choce and good price. Say spend around 500 dollar and get one with a HDD inside, so you can transfer some show in side and watch at convenience. Note : Falconite DO NOT encourage Piracy.

Okie..U want to look into features like HDI ready and withthe cable provided... no fear on Sumsung and like brand. They are stable. Keep away from Akira and likes...

Also, last weekend gotch new PS3 (160GB) released...maybe I wait awhile first...but this new PS3 version isn't backward compatible with PS2 games...sianz...then all my PS2 games can throw away...:cry:
